Hestra Army Leather Gore-Tex XCR Glove

Hestra Army Leather Gore-Tex XCR Glove

Rating for this product: 5 January 18, 2007

These are great gloves, with real leather palms, reinforced with additional leather on the lower forefingers. Pre-curved, they are extremely comfortable, warm and allow pretty good dexterity. Idiot straps are comfortable elastic. I wish I had bought them one size larger so I could use liners with them.

Good medium base layer

Columbia Bugaboo Mid Weight 1/4 Zip Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Columbia Bugaboo Mid Weight 1/4 Zip Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 10, 2007

I bought 3 pairs of these and they work well as a medium weight base layer. Fits a little looser than say a typical polypropylene base, but comfortable nonetheless.

Great low light performer

Smith Prodigy Goggles

Smith Prodigy Goggles

Rating for this product: 5 January 10, 2007

I bought these goggles for skiing in low light, overcast and shadows, and they perform wonderfully. Only once did they fog, when I had inadvertently let my face mask ride up under the goggle. Vents are easy to operate, even with gloved hands, and foam cushioning is comfortable.

Columbia Double The Fun Down Jacket - Women's

Columbia Double The Fun Down Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 5, 2007

Bought this jacket for my wife to use, so this review is a "second hand report." Fits great and doesn't look like your husbands down jacket.

Surprisingly Comfortable

Therm-a-Rest Compressible Pillow

Therm-a-Rest Compressible Pillow

Rating for this product: 5 January 5, 2007

Come on now... Really, how comfortable can a roll up camp pillow be? What a surprise, this thing is what I take with me when I sleep in a motel bed, or ski hut or even... camping. Unroll it, shake it out a bit and you're set.

Perfect size for skiing

CamelBak Zoid Winter Hydration Pack

CamelBak Zoid Winter Hydration Pack

Rating for this product: 5 January 5, 2007

I bought this after skiing a season with the Rim Runner from CamelBak, which was too big, especially when you land on your back and get whiplash. The Zoid is small enough to fit under my ski parka, yet still holds plenty of water and the little pocket holds my keys, powerbar etc. You don't have to sit sideways on ski lifts with it either, water stays just the right temp. and the mouth tube never freezes.

Warm and funky

Mountain Hardwear Dome Perignon Beanie

Mountain Hardwear Dome Perignon Beanie

Rating for this product: 5 December 27, 2006

Truth be told, I bought a few of these for gifts but wound up pilfering one for my own during a recent ski trip. Kind of funky, but this hat is really warm and doesn't itch like a wool beanie. Besides being windproof, the roll-up ear covers come in handy when it gets really cold. Oh yea, you can play around and make the hat look like one from Robin Hood.
