two options get the Large, i feel like it fits pretty true to size, or you can order both large and medium and return the one you dont use, you will have to pay about 6$ return shipping but its worth it to make sure Xmas morning he has one that fits perfectly. Nothing is worse than getting an AWESOME jacket and having to return it because it doesnt fit just right and having to wait an extra week.
GOOD LUCK

Looks like at some point it stopped rotating then started to burn from the friction of the rope. This device is not designed for high speeds, its made for light rescue and for climbing (hauling gear bags) or other climbing applications. The plastic is not made to stand up to heat, i would look into something that is made for zip lines probably a metal pulley. I dont know of any climbing gear made for that fast of movement and that much friction. Good luck be careful.

Most people go ahead and Girth hitch them. You are true that normally you dont want to girth hitch two fabrics together it does weaken the system but you shouldnt be falling on this system anyways. Also if something it girth hitched to your harness for to long you could wear out your belay loop (what might have happened to Skinner), it should be fine unless its always really tight and for a long period of time just be sure to inspect your equipment and you will be fine.

Does he climb once a month and in 3 months his feet will be a 8.5 then get the 8.5. you want climbing shoes to be tight and responsive.

It really all depends on what you want to spend, what season and how concerned about weight you are. To make life easier on my horses i would have two different tents one that fits 6 people and one that just fits two that way when there is just 2 people my horses dont have to carry all that extra weight. Im guessing that you are only going to need a 3 seasons tent so i would go with the...Mountain Hardwear Casa 6 Tent 6-Person 3-Season. Its not even half the weight of this tent only 11lb 10oz and it is 150$ less. That way you can have one text and even when its two people your only putting 6Lbs per horse not has bad as 14Lb per horse with this tent

i have never seen a probe longer than 320cm your looking for a 365cm probe. They might not be made. you get bellow 320cm there is not much hope, really at 320 cm digging 10 feet is more than likly finding a body. if you really wanted to you could make one just take a few more pole segments and a new wire and make one to any length you want with a little effort.

They all use a Polyurethane sole. Therefore the level of slip resistance will be the same for all their clogs. As far as how slip resistant that sole is it depends on what you want to do in them for casual outings you will be fine. If you doing anything technical your in a world of hurt for more reasons than the sole of the shoe.

Its up to 10K waterproof. If you want something that works as raingear tryin spending the money once on something like Arcteyrx or Mountain Hardware. Its more up front but both compains will take more than one season so it pays off in the long run. I used to do the same thing as you then i did the math and paying 200$ once for years of use is better than paying 70$ every year.

I think you can use Lithium bats just like you would alkaline. Just somethings dont need them. There should be no problems they are only puting out .2 more volts each. Get some and test it out a little before you leave the house. Also please remember that lithium batteries are TOXIC and you cant just throw then in the regular trash.

yea i think it would work but in VERY VERY VERY best situations your only going to be getting 52 Watts out of this on average probably about half of that. If you spend money on a nice converter you wont have much resistance so you will have 120V and about 40 watts which you should be able to increase. Talk with an electrican and see what they have to say. Im sure they can give you a better answer over the phone.

For me it depends on the terrain. If you sprain your ankle because you dont have good support then alot of good conserving weight did for you. So really it all depends 23# pack is not all that much, but maybe load up a pack with 25# have your son walk around and see what he would like the most, if his ankles feel like they need support get some supportive shoes. Really it is a personal preference. Normally around 25# i would use trail runners but im 6 3 225 so maybe for the small lad boots would be a good way to go. You can get some nice ones i love ASOL boots like the FSN 95 GTX Mens Waterproof Hiking Boots.

I think that it is a 4 season tent according to Black Diamond. From BD:The OneShot is a four-season, freestanding solo shelter that is roomy enough to sit up in, yet packs down small and weighs less than some bivy sacks. Using a two-and-a-half pole design similar to the Lighthouse, the OneShot offers a full side-opening door with a built-in window and another window on the opposite side with awnings over both. The canopy is built with highly water-resistant and breathable Epic by Nextec fabric, and the trapezoidal floor is made of double silicone coated nylon ripstop. To keep your small items safe, the OneShot has two interior net pockets.

Look at the over all weight. The fill weight will depend on the size of the fill that is used. so say 800+ fill is used its going to be lighter than 600 fill and the same warmth. So look at the overall weight of the bag and the temp rating. Try looking at Montbell i love their bags.

I would say am XL im not going to bust out the ruler but im 6 3 and 225 and i have an XL and i can layer a fleece under it. It is a little short so maybe check out the Alpha SL but I would think that you would be fine with an XL.

This at 20K will hold up pretty well. I love just about everything Montbell makes. Its not going to be the most burly jacket but it will hold up well if you are not bush wacking through a brie patch. I would get the XL, im 6 3 225 and an XL works well and the only other size left is a M and that will be way to small!

Yep if it ever stops beading apply another DWR. Im a big Gore-tex so check out something with Gore-tex Paclite like the Arc'teryx Beta SL Jacket or the Arc'teryx Alpha SL Jacket (both a few OZ lighter but quite a bit heavier on your wallet). You can also look at the Gore-tex website for other rain jackets that use Gore-tex. I know i could have just opened up a can of worms sayint that Gore-tex is the way to go but hey NASA puts it in the mulit million $ space suit so must be onto something.

Yeah the removable stays are nice and the suspension system is a good way to go. Adding a little weight on the pack is a good place to ad it. Even though you have a lbs or 2 more it will be easier to carry then 3 or 4 lbs less because of the more comfortable pack. Im also an ultra light backpacker but still use a good pack because it is just more comfortable and dont notice the 3 extra pounds it really feels like there is 5 less pounds on my back. Its like sure you could wear sandals and be light to but your not going to move better.

I think these will be good for any cold weather. I have cold hands and at 13F my hands were over heated with these. Get one size up if your going to wear glove liners. At 50% on bomber gloves you should be good to go. If they dont work send them back to the GOAT they have an awesome return policy!

by the time you throw your forks, cups and mugs in i dont think that it will. But the dimensions of this stove are 4x5x3 and the dimensions of the Dualist are 6.4 x 5.9 inches. So if you have the Dualist already do some measurements and see what you come up with but i doubt it. Either way at 4x5x3 it will fit in lots of places!

Osprey includes an interior pocket for an AquaSource ReCurve hydration pack that fits down your pack or horizontally on top of your gear, and the ReCurve hydration pack can also be turned into its own backpack with the sleeping pad straps.
I dont know the size but i believe it comes with its own special hydration bladder so you dont need to buy one. If not a standard 100oz one will work fine. If that helps at all.

Try storing it inflated with the valve open will get rid of the moisture. It is never a good idea to leave it in there. So if you store it flat with the valve open it will work its way out.

If you are melting snow for yourself this does ok the problem is that the whole system works on convection, Hot water rising cold water going down. When melting snow the convection idea stops a little so it takes longer than a pan or pot for melting snow. The jetboil really focuses the heat on the bottom. So if its just you or maybe one other person you will be fine. Melting snow for a group your gonna have it running alot.
As far a weather or altitude im not real sure if you up in the mountains in the winter i would use a different option. but thats just me im sure other gearheads will tell you something different.

I have never used Polyester Ripstop fabric but they claim that it is waterproof, the seams are not sealed so i would do that myself if i was going to be using it in the rain. Get it try it out and if it doesnt work the Goat has a 30+ year return policy so your good!

I have a pair of Leki poles and my complaint is that the "super lock system" is not to super they work by a stopper getting friction on the inside of the pole and that causes it to move on a screw and expand creates more friction and eventually locks down. The problem is that the stopper moves around on the screw and sometimes get so lose that it cant build up friction and therefore you have to take the poles apart and do it by hand. Its a real pain this is a problem i seem to have all the time until i figured out how to do it i was lost so really i would recommend a different pole. But thats just me I dont hear many complaints so it could just be my poles. So as far as i know they havent improved that system but i think complaints are isolated.

Yea you should be fine I am 6 2 and 225 lbs with very muscular legs and wear a size 14-15 and I fit into the xl pretty comfortably with hiking or snow boots on. So with smaller legs a L should work if your using bit boots though just get a XL your not adding much weight and no extra cost. Save yourself from maybe having to return them. They dont fall down very easily due to how they are made and the strap at the top. I would go for the XL but a L could still work
