All 3 sets of lenses on these are phenomenal. I spend a lot of time on the water in South Florida, and these glasses penetrate the flats, letting you see fish others are going to miss. In the winter, they cut the glare off the slopes in in the NW. Frames are light and comfortable, and switching lenses for conditions is easy. Pick up 2 pair if you catch these on SAC.

Super light, super warm. It will get burned next to a poppin fire though. My all time favorite piece of gear.

MontBell Ultralight Thermawrap Jacket - Men's

Not the crinkly cuffs. Check out the pics they call "stretch panels". These are WAY better than the old cuffs.

MontBell Ultralight Thermawrap Jacket - Men's

June 24, 2009

There's an older version with crappier elastic cuffs and waist, like they sewed a rubber band in at the cuff. The newer one (this one) has a triangle of spandex sewn in at the cuffs and on the hip. Much better. Can't speak to sizing.

MSR Hubba Hubba Tent 2-Person 3-Season

MSR did it right with the Hubba Hubba. All mesh makes this guy feel open on the nice nights, and the fly keeps you +1 (and your gear in the vestibules) dry when it's raining. I like this better than the HP, which traded the mesh for lighter fabric. Normally I'm always looking to shed weight, but that's just not worth it to me.

Granite Gear Vapor Trail Backpack - 3300-3900cu in

Granite Gear Vapor Trail Backpack - 3300-3900cu in

Rating for this product: 5 June 18, 2009

Go hang out on the AT or a while. See what the thru hikers are carrying. Ask yourself what's important to someone when they live out of their bag for 2100 miles. Go buy a Vapor Trail. You won't be disappointed...

Unless you like lots of pockets, fancy suspension that adds pounds, removable fanny packs, etc. etc. If you haven't cut your toothbrush in half yet, you might not like this pack. If you have, I recommend cutting the tags out of this pack.

Now that I'm out west, no one seems to carry this pack. They're all surprised that I'd carry anything other than arcteryx; until they pick mine up. Light! Comfortable! Buy one!
