Outdoor Research Essence Duo T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 27, 2012

I grabbed two of these shirts and I am impressed. Very impressed. I can wear them for hours of high-intensity activity and I don't have to worry about stinking. After many, many washes, they've held their color and shape, even when run through the drier on high. They run true to size, and they have an awesome cut. My only negative thought for this shirt is the length. It's great for casual wear, but it's a little too short to be comfortable during over-the-head moves.

The North Face Pumori Fleece Jacket - Women's

December 2, 2011

With these type of jackets, I usually buy based on chest size and if I intend to layer underneath or not. If you are on the edge of a chest size bracket, I find that it's usually best to get the next one up. This makes sure you have enough room to breath, and to wear a base layer or two under it.

Backcountry.com Siphon Street Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt - Men's

December 20, 2009

I repeatedly run this this through both the hot washer cycle and the dryer and it's just fine. I dodn't have any noticeable shrinkage and there is very, very minor pilling.

The North Face Citation Soft Shell 2 Jacket - Women's

December 1, 2008

I'm looking for a good shell to use with the TNF Denali. I see that this jacket does not have zip-in capabilities. Does that make it (and all non-zips) a good candidate for compatibility? Thanks!

The North Face Classic Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 September 22, 2008

I only have one complaint with this jacket: it's not windproof or even wind resistant! Other than that, it's a super jacket for around town or hiking. I actually own a kid's XL, since it's cheaper than the women's and it fits (I'm an athletic 5'3"). Good jacket, wish there was are least wind resistance!

Kelty Teton 2 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Kelty Teton 2 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 September 16, 2008

This is the first tent I've owned. I'm not a gearhead, but I did my research, and this came in at the top of every list I made.
It's lightweight and an absolute breeze to set up (I try making everything without directions first), rain shield also. I can't really say much about ventilation; the couple of times I've had it out, it's served as a gear tent only. I can, however, swear on it's waterproofing. The first day out, it was rained on, hailed on, treed on and there was not a drop of water anywhere.
I like that the door was up off of the group a bit. That aided unbelievably in all the mud and sludge the Teton ended up sitting in. I'm a smaller person, so I didn't have any problems getting in or out of it.
I can't wait to get this thing out and play more!

Marmot Ion

Marmot Ion Windshirt - Men's

Marmot Ion Windshirt - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 September 16, 2008

I bought this on clearance as a temporary wind jacket and haven't bought one since. I bought it because it fit and it was cheap, and when I only when I got it home did I realize that it's a men's item, not a women's, if that gives you an idea of torso room.
My only gripes about this item are the length and the hood pulls. It's a little short for more than casual wear, pulling up with arm movement, thus lessening it's effectiveness. I have a little bit of a hard time keeping the hood pulls in a tight position. They gradually slide loose, making for an irritating and sudden exposure to the elements. Other than that, it's a great item!

An excellent top for a day about town or a grueling run. It's sized a bit big, though, so bear that in mind. It's lightweight, dries fast and looks good!

KEEN Targhee ll Hiking Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 August 28, 2008

Bought them a few days before leaving for a trip to Morocco. I didn't have time to break them in, and it turned out that I didn't need to. They were fantastically rugged and ridiculously comfortable; I was airport hopping and playing in dirt and rock and these shoes responded exceptionally well! The rubber on the toe was a huge help. I'd recommend them for work or play.

KEEN Ventura Canvas Shoe - Women's

August 26, 2008

Keen shoes tend to run a half-size small. I would order a half-size up for your normal and give it a shot. And yes, this sizing seems pretty consistent within the brand.---------------I own quite a fee pairs of Keens (sandles, shoes, light hikers). These are very comfortable, I've been wearing them to work, which means being on my feet most of the day on covered concrete (i.e. in a hospital)People should be aware, however, that there is little (if any) arch support.Otherwise, they are great for a casual shoe.
