Installed in no time - nice narrow clamp makes it cake. Can't get over the weight - or lack there of! Great feel in the hand, too. First carbon fiber on any of my bikes, and I like it.

Awesome sweather/shirt thing

Ex Officio Soy'R Sweater - Men's

Ex Officio Soy'R Sweater - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2009

Picked the Olive one up off of SAC and must say I am impressed! I have a couple Ex Officio outer wear items that I am very pleased with so figured I'd give their regular stuff a shot.

The M is a great fit - more narrow than the photo shows but it is a very stretchy fabric, not restrictive at all. Very soft and light - looks very nice too. Not overly warm, which honestly is a good thing for me! I was wearing a wool sweater when I opened the package, and immediately threw this on instead.

Only gripe is the tag - I don't know if it was intentional, but only the top two corners were sewn - the bottom two were floating free and itching the crap out of my neck. I cut the tag off and all is well now!

Awesome jacket!!

The North Face Redpoint Jacket - Women's

The North Face Redpoint Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 14, 2008

I have the men's Redpoint, and got the women's for both my girlfriend and sister this past Xmas. It went over very well - with very high praise for the fleece-y pockets. Note, the men's version doesn't have fleece-y pockets! It has slightly more stylish lines/patterns than the men's version too.. but maintains the great compactness, insulation and water repellency its known for. The Redpoint is a terrific value - I wear mine in all but the coldest weather - at which time I zip it into a TNF shell and am ready for ANY weather.

absolutely fantastic!

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 12, 2007

I got this one thinking it was simply be a fleece that blocked wind, but its so much more than that! The warmth provided by the Tech jacket is terrific, especially when you feel how light it is. I often have to open the pit-zips - thank goodness those are there. Its bizarre to wear such a light feeling coat, yet have chilling winds whip around you instead of through you.

Its ultra comfy, too, right down to the super soft cuffs on the sleeves. Looks very sharp, and has durable nylon everywhere in all the right places. The MH logo adds a touch of flash and turns alot of heads. This is a fantasic jacket.

great shirt - good looks and comfort

Mountain Hardwear Gradient Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Gradient Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 20, 2007

This shirt has quickly risen to "favorite summer shirt" status! I picked up the Ketchup, which despite its name is actually a very mellow color. I love the weight of this shirt - very light and breathable. It does not wrinkle very easily, and maintains a nice crisp look with a terrifically soft feel.

I was "testing the waters" on this shirt to check out Mountain Hardwear's casual stuff - and I am thoroughly impressed.

a watch only for running? silly!

Nike Timing Triax Speed 50 Regular Watch

Nike Timing Triax Speed 50 Regular Watch

Rating for this product: 5 August 20, 2007

Ok, not so silly. I recently grew out of my digital watch phase, but quickly realized that timing myself on an analog watch was downright silly. I had a tough time believing I could use one watch for running and only running, but this thing is great. Love the display - the "regular" digits are huge and very visible.

The watch is very smart - lap, intervals and even just setting the date are cake with it. Has alarms and dual time zones, as well as some neat "data" features for personal reflection.

Its incredibly lightweight, yet tough as nails. The watch band is a bit thin, but I guess that's what makes it unisex.

Great watch, and a great price thanks to Backcountry's Geartrade account!
