Jeff Guest 3 Runs In The Canyons Terrain Park With GoPro On A Stick (3-26-11)

Skullcandy Icon 2 Headphones

June 3, 2011

I took 3 laps in the Park trying to ride with the GoPro on a stick. It worked good except I should have extended the stick out more to get a better shot. Sorry I'm also doing the same tricks over and over, but it is a little awkward snowboarding with a camera on a stick. The backflip looks cool though!

Canyonerring Bivy

Adventure Medical SOL Emergency Blanket

Adventure Medical SOL Emergency Blanket

Rating for this product: 5 May 17, 2012

I bought this Emergency Blanket to carry with me when canyonerring. I've almost had to spend the night in 3 different canyons now, but luckily was able to get out and sleep in my nice warm sleeping bag. This is so light that I can just leave it in my pack and forget about it till the time that I will need to spend the night in a canyon or wait out a flash flood (hopefully that won't happen). It is more durable than a space blanket, so if it tears it won't keep tearing! :)

Mountain Hardwear Direttissima Backpack - 2750-3500cu in

Rating for this product: 5 May 17, 2012

I have used the Dihedral Backpack for a few years now while canyoneering. It is a great pack and the tough cordura helps the pack slide over rocks and on the walls in tight slot canyons and helps protect the backpack. My dihedral is getting worn out and I had always wished I could have a little more room. The Direttissima is the same pack but a little bigger! I'm sad they updated the newer model of the Direttissima because it doesn't look like it has the same durable cordura on the back. I hope this one lasts me a long time because it is a great pack! :)

2 Years and Going Strong!

Wild Country VC Pro 2 Belay Device

Wild Country VC Pro 2 Belay Device

Rating for this product: 5 May 2, 2012

I mainly use these for rappelling when I'm Canyoneering and have been using these for 2 years now! I've tried various 8's, BD ATC XP, and the Sterling ATS over the years and I keep coming back to the VC Pro 2 because of it's so inexpensive compared to other Rappel/belay devices and has the curved side to start out with little friction and easily move the rope over to the teeth side to add more friction when you need it. Also It's an ATC so it doesn't twist the rope like an 8 does. I have many of these to loan out to friends I bring canyoneering.

injinji Performance Mini-Crew Toe Sock

Rating for this product: 5 May 2, 2012

I just bought my second pair of these socks. I wanted to get some Vibram Five Finger Shoes so I've been wearing these socks to help get my toes used to being away from each other. You generally don't where socks with the Vibram shoes but you can if you get a little bit bigger shoes. There are no seams so there is nothing to irritate your toes. They do take some getting used to if your not used to having something between your toes, but they are definitely worth getting! I'm planning on getting a few more pairs soon!

I got these for a Uinta backpacking trip that is coming up and all the reviews said to size up because they run a little small. This was good to do anyway since I'm planning on wearing shorts or pants underneath when it's raining. The full zip makes it easy to to put on or take off with my muddy backpacking boots still on. Bring it on rain! I'm ready!

Seams Irritate the Fingers

Kokatat Neoprene Medium Weight Hand Jackets

Kokatat Neoprene Medium Weight Hand Jackets

Rating for this product: 2 April 25, 2012

I've had a few Neoprene gloves in my day and these where not built very well on the fingers. I don't know why some companies like to put the hard uncomfortable seam glue on the inside of the fingers so it rubs against your skin. That is what these do. They aren't the most uncomfortable gloves I have tried on and I wasn't so uncomfortable that I wouldn't consider using them if I had nothing else, but NRS and Excel make their gloves without the seams on the inside of the glove so I will stick with those 2 brands. Sorry Kokatat. I love your other products, but you need to work on your gloves.

Oh! Almost forgot... The black dots on the palm are plastic, not rubber so they aren't as grippy as you would think.

Sweet Acsender!

Petzl Ascension Handled Ascender

Petzl Ascension Handled Ascender

Rating for this product: 5 August 15, 2011

I got to use one of these last weekend when the rope got stuck in a slot canyon. I used one of these and a tiblock to ascent up 100' of rope to retrieve it. I own the BD Ascenders which I LOVE, but I also really liked this ascender too! It seams a little lighter than the BD version, and is easier to open to put on and take off the rope than the BD version because there is no "Z pattern" you have to follow. It doesn't seem as smooth to open and close though, but there was no slipping and it worked great! The Petzl and Black Diamond Acsenders are both great ascenders and are the same price, but I would probably go with the Petzle because it is about 2oz lighter per ascender than the BD ones.

This is a nice shell that reminds me of the Stoic eVent Jacket, but better (in some ways). The jacket is super waterproof and lightweight! Stoic Microlith Softshell Pullover - Men's

August 4, 2011

Slightly different fabrics on the inside and outside and the Microlith does have the longer arms. I've fixed the arm length issue on previous Stoic jackets by folding the ends of the sleeves in and Aqua Sealing them to my desired length. It is missing the soft micro fleece that the Rime had, but is still worth getting if you loved your Rime. The Microlith also has a bungee system around the waist which I don't think is necessary (I never use them on any jacket), The Rime doesn't have that.

Stoic Microlith Softshell Pullover - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 August 4, 2011

I own the Backcountry.com Rime Pullover and love it! I use it when camping and canyoneering. It is getting a little worn out so I got the Microlith Pullover hoping it was the same thing. It is very similar but is missing the soft layer of Micro fleece on the inside. It's still a great jacket but I really like Micro Fleece in the Rime and many color options the Rime had to offer. The Microlith also has a bungee system around the waist which I don't think is necessary (I never use them on any jacket).

This is a good tool that does what it's designed to do, but the edges are pretty squared so it hurts to hit it with your palm and it is lacking a built in carabiner/leash. This is a great minimalist/cheap nut tool but there are better ones out there. I prefer the Wild Country Pro-Key Nut Tool.

Rating for this product: 5 July 19, 2011

I love my Metolius Belay Gloves and I own a few pairs! They are soft and feel great on your hands and keep the rope from burning you! The dual layer of leather on the palms are super durable and will last a long time! I use these for belaying, rappelling, and canyoneering. When they get wet they will dry and be a little hard, stiff, and shrink a little but just stick you hand in there, make a fist, and stretch it back out. These will start to wear on the fingers first but they last a lot longer than the cheap gloves you get at the hardware store!

Rating for this product: 5 July 12, 2011

I just bought a 13.5 the other day to use as my low wind kite. I'm 5'5" and weigh 110lbs. I'm still relatively new to kiting but this has got to be the best kite I've flown so far! It only has 4 struts so it is lightweight and just floats in the air where my Naish Charger would have dropped out of the sky in the 8 mph winds. It is very predictable and responsive. I'm very happy with this kite and will buy another!

Works Surprisingly Perfect!

SealLine e-Series Electronic Case

SealLine e-Series Electronic Case

Rating for this product: 5 July 5, 2011

I got one of these and was a little iffy about the "ziplock" type closure so I did some testing. I put a tissue into the bag and dunked it in the sink. Tissue did not get wet. Took it to the bottom of a 5' swimming pool, pushed it together and played with it and it did not get wet. Took a smart phone through the Subway slot canyon in Zion NP (very wet canyon) and IT DID NOT GET WET!!! The Small is perfect for your smartphone and is touch sensitive so you can use your touchscreen phone through the bag! I wouldn't recommend using these for your cameras as I have tried other bags for that in the past and they all suck. Just get a waterproof camera. You can find them relatively cheap and they work great! Get one of these for your smart phones to protect them from water and sand! Easy too open, easy too close.

I love this GPS so much that I keep buying the same one to replace the one that got ran over by a car, and the one that got stolen out of my car. I love the color display and it's gets a signal quickly. It does loose the signal in slot canyons and will beep every once in a while to let you know that there is no signal, but who needs a signal in a slot canyon? Water proof up to 3 feet is a must in wet canyons, but be careful... IT DOES NOT FLOAT! Don't forget to buy a holster for it!

Carhartt Washed-Duck Work Dungaree Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 22, 2011

I am super picky about my pants and that combined with my size (20x30) makes it extremely difficult to find pants I like and that fit right. These pants are perfect! I love the shape of these pockets so you hand can slide in at and angle instead of having to move your entire arm up and then dive your hand straight down into the pocket like on most other pants. I also MUST HAVE the side pockets on the leg! that is where I keep my phone, pen, and knife. The great thing about these pants is is has the side pockets on both sides of the pants! The only thing that could make these pants better is if Carhartt made a blue denim looking color!

I have had these for about 4 years and they fit great and look awesome! They are perfect for small faces like mine! The lens is a tiny bit difficult to swap out. Great Goggles!

Oakley Splice Goggle

Oakley Splice Goggle

Rating for this product: 4 June 22, 2011

I got a pair of these for free on the opening day at the Canyons Mountain Resort in Park City Utah in December 2010. They are nice goggles and fit well. There is no nose pressure which is super nice, but it seemed that the nose area is a little higher than other goggles so I could constantly see the nose padding while boarding. I usually wear Women's goggles because I have a small face so my problem might have been that these Splice goggles were to big for me so I had to wear them higher on my head. I gave them to my dad because they were free and he loves them! My brother also has a pair and he has no complaints with them.

I have not been able to wear gloves at all until I tried these ones! My hands don't produce heat very well so my fingers would get cold very quickly in other gloves. These are made of leather so the block the wind very well, and the 200g Thinsulate and Hipora insert help keep the heat in! I'm finally able to give up the thick mittens and wear gloves! These are not good for the warmer days sessioning in the park as your hands will sweat like crazy. This comes with some Nikwax Leather Proof that you will need to apply before you use them on the snow and you will need to re-apply every month or so depending on how often your out shredding.

Great Neck Gaiter!

Coal V-Neck Gaiter

Coal V-Neck Gaiter

Rating for this product: 3 June 20, 2011

I've owned a lot of neck gaiters through the years and a lot of them are hard to breath through. This one is on the easier to breath through side but can still be a little difficult if pressed right up to your mouth or breathing hard. It is windproof and will get wet from your mouth breathing on it, but it is super warm, soft, and I like the v-shape and the colors!

Arc'teryx Stingray Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Stingray Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 20, 2011

This jacket is a soft shell jacket with the power of Gore-Tex! Think of a soft, quiet, waterproof material. It is just a shell with a micro fleece type lining to add a little softness to the inside. It has a powder skirt which I think all jackets should come with and the pit zips to dump heat. Don't forget to clean and re-waterproof it with Nikwax!

Arc'teryx Velox Crew - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 16, 2011

This has got to be the lightest shirt I have ever touched! It is super thin and feels great against the skin! There is a problem with it being so light and thin is that it wrinkles easily when wearing (if it is to loose it looks wavey), so make sure you get the size right so it is close fitting. I usually wear a small, but I got to try on a Medium.

Ski/Snowboard Rack

Thule Universal Pull Top 6 w/Locks

Thule Universal Pull Top 6 w/Locks

Rating for this product: 4 June 16, 2011

I racked my 1999 Nissan Sentra and the rack looks very good on my little green car! My car is really small so I can't fit my snowboard in it so I got this rack and I love it! It is easy to open the rack to put your 4 snowboards on or off the rack and they lock so nobody steals your gear when loft on your car! The one downside I've noticed is that it does create wind drag. My car is a 4 banger so it's not very powerful and I can feel the drag that this rack creates so be sure to take them off your car if your not going to use them for a week or more. Don't let that 1 negative thing deter you from buying this rack as any mount you put on your car will create drag.

I racked my 1999 Nissan Sentra and the rack looks very good on my little green car! I also bought a Kayak rack to go with it and some of these straps came with the kayak rack. I actually keep these traps in my trunk and use them to tie down stuff on my roof rack such as wood, backpacks that don't fit in my tiny car, etc... These are very useful and can be used without a rack on your car too. simply open your doors, put the strap over your roof and through the car, cinch it tight, and close the doors.

I racked my 1999 Nissan Sentra and the rack looks very good on my little green car! I have a bunch of different racks and I keep buying more and I have all of my locks on 1 key so I don't have to worry about loosing keys. I would suggest buying the set of 10 locks because you will eventually buy more rack stuff and will need to buy more locks like I ended up doing. You will want 4 locks for the Fit Kit/Towers, and then more for your cargo box, ski rack, bike rack, kayak rack, etc... You can special order more lock cores that fit your key directly from Thule, but it will cost you a little bit more $.

I own a whole freakin' lot of these because they are so cheap and work great! I have given up buying quickdraws since I started Trad climbing and I now buy slings and these biners to make my own quickdraws. Best Locking Biner!

Black Diamond Rocklock Carabiner

Black Diamond Rocklock Carabiner

Rating for this product: 5 June 13, 2011

I own multiple Rocklock biners and have use them for years! I use them as anchors for top roping the beginners, to belay with my ATC I use the twistlock, with my ascenders both BD Ascenders and Petzl Tiblocs, and to canyoneer/rappel with my Wild Country VC Pro II ATC. I have had no complaints with them, even with my canyoneering one which constantly gets sand in the lock. It still works! Only take the screw lock into canyons to be sure that your locking biner will actually lock. Never use the Twistlock while canyoneering. I will continue to mostly use the Rocklock carabiners! I just wish BD would make this biner in more colors than just Mocha. I really don't like the Mocha color.

Light and Small

Petzl Tibloc Ultralight Emergency Ascender

Petzl Tibloc Ultralight Emergency Ascender

Rating for this product: 5 June 13, 2011

I used to carry my DB Ascenders with me while canyoneering because they are easier and quicker to climb a rope with, but I didn't need to use them very often and they are heavy. I bought these tibs to replace my DB ascenders when canyoneering and they have been great! they are super light and small and they do the job well if you know how to use them (read the instructions and practice at home first). I have used them to climb a 9mm static rope once and used them multiple times to help grip the 6mm pull cord to pull a rope down from a rappel. I use the BD Rocklock carabiners and they work will with these tibs. My only complaint is I think the price is higher than it should be for these little aluminum ascenders, but they are worth it if your canyoneering and want to save some weight. be sure to by 2 because they are only sold as 1.

Best Ascenders

Black Diamond nForce Ascender

Black Diamond nForce Ascender

Rating for this product: 5 June 13, 2011

I have used my BD Ascenders multiple times and I love them! They are easy to put onto the rope and for the most part easy to take off the rope. They do kind of make your hands tired so make sure to wear gloves while ascending. I if you take them canyoneering, be sure to keep them in a dry bag to keep the sand off them as the sand will make the pivot joints not work so well, but you can wash them out with water. I've climbed 400ft of rope in one session and have only had a few times when the teeth didn't grab the rope, but it was rare and didn't bother me that bad. I would for sure recommend these ascenders to anyone!

Great Little 8!

Black Diamond Super 8 Belay/Rappel Device

Black Diamond Super 8 Belay/Rappel Device

Rating for this product: 4 June 11, 2011

I bought one of these a few years ago to add to my collection of rappel devices for when I take people rappelling. The only complaint I have is that it gets hot pretty quick for aluminum. My really old KONG 8 hardly gets hot at all so I was a little disappointing in this 8, but over all it's a good little device.

If you are looking for a rappel device for canyoneering, stay away from 8's! They twist the rope and make it hard for the next person to rappel. I would recommend the Wild Country VC Pro II ATC for pretty much everything!

I had to use this once to bail myself out of a sticky situation a few years ago. I'm sure it is probably still there on my blue webbing. I don't know what else to say about it. It's an aluminum rap ring and it's better than leaving a biner behind.

Great ATC

Black Diamond ATC-XP Belay Device

Black Diamond ATC-XP Belay Device

Rating for this product: 4 June 11, 2011

This is a great ATC design by BD and it works great! The grooved high friction end is very nice for those long rappels in slot canyons.
I only gave this 4 stars because I like the Wild Country VC Pro 2 Belay Device better because it is the same design but has a curved side so you can have it on a low friction setting when at the top of your long rappel, then simply move the rope to the high friction side when you need more friction at the bottom of your long rappel. You can't do that with this one. For climbing use thought I would give it 5 stars.

MSR WhisperLite Stove

Rating for this product: 4 June 11, 2011

I've used this many times and every time I light it the entire stove catches on fire and then after about a minute it settles down into the little blue flames. It might be me not knowing how to use the stove properly(I am not a cook at all). Other than that it is a great little stove. It nests nicely with the MSR Blacklite pots.

JanSport Klamath 68 Backpack - 4200cu in

Rating for this product: 5 June 10, 2011

I have an older version of this pack and tried on a bunch of different packs before I decided on this one. The biggest thing I was looking for in a pack was it's weight. This was by far the lightest pack I tried on and had all of the features I wanted. I have been very happy with it and would recommend it to everyone! I wouldn't recommend the Buckthorn Brown color though. I don't know what Jansport was thinking when they made a pack in that color. Blah...

Good filter

Katadyn Vario Dual Technology MicroFilter

Katadyn Vario Dual Technology MicroFilter

Rating for this product: 4 June 10, 2011

I bought this a few years ago and tested it in my sink and it worked great! Took it canyoneering and ended up having to use it. We pumped from a clear pothole and it would not pump. we tried again at another clear pothole a little later and it would not suck the water through. Tried again later at a flowing stream and it finally started sucking the water and we were able to quench out thirst. I've had multiple other instances where it decides to work and not work. I might have got a dud because everyone else is giving it great reviews.

I do like it though. It is easy to operate when it works and easy to clean. Even though mine is a lemon, I would recommend it. My friend has a Vario and he hasn't had any problem s with his.

I've used this on my climbing helmet leg while snowboarding (I have really skinny legs), and my wrist. It's not an accessory I use a lot just because I have other mounts that are slightly better, but it is a useful accessory to have. You could even put it on the middle Kite strut if you wanted.

I use this mount on my Kite while Kiteboarding on the water and the snow and I love it! It mounts to the center strut near the leading edge, not the leading edge itself like the description said. Keep in mind you will have to flip the video vertically and horizontally when editing because the camera will either be upside down or right side up.

I have multiple backpacks that I use and I have the Bite Valve Cover so it makes it makes it really easy to disconnect the one end to get the bladder in and out of my backpack! It is also convenient if you need to filter some water using your Katadyn Vario as the Filter hose can attach to your bladder hose.

I wound recommend only using water in it though and don't let the water get to hot while leaving it in your car or it will start to smell like a fishbowl.

Mountain Hardwear Direttissima Backpack - 2750-3500cu in

Rating for this product: 5 June 7, 2011

I've been using this backpack for Canyoneering for about 3 years and It is sill going strong! It has lots of room for your rope and pull cord and it's super durable Cordura backing slides across rocks with ease. The very bottom of the pack started to wear out really quickly but I grommeted the bottom like I do with all my canyon packs and that took care of the bottom wearing out! it also has additional hidden straps behind the Cordura! I've used those hidden straps to carry a second rope.

I Love This Pad!

Stoic LTWT Step Sleeping Pad - Regular

Stoic LTWT Step Sleeping Pad - Regular

Rating for this product: 5 June 7, 2011

This pad is right up there with Therma-rest in quality! It is thicker between the head and butt and then is thinner from below the butt to the feet! This is beneficial because your legs don't need as much padding as your body and it packs down smaller and is lighter! I highly recommend this pad to everyone!

Just an FYI... A self inflating pad never self inflates after being stored in a compressed state for a long period of time. You should never expect a brand new pad to self inflate when you open it for the first time. You need to store it fully inflated without the valve closed. When it does self inflate you will still need to top it off by blowing into it or it won't be firm enough.

Skullcandy Lowrider Headphones

Rating for this product: 2 June 6, 2011

These are Ok in my opinion but I use them at home on my computer when I need the sound all to myself and there are no other headphones around. They are kind of heavy so these are not good for snowboarding because they fall off easily and they make my ears sore after an hour or so of wearing them. They fold down nice and small which is a nice. My favorite headphones are the Hesh headphones.

Rating for this product: 5 June 6, 2011

The Canyoneer 2 Shoe has not changed for a few years because how change you change something that is already the best! Excellent grip, heel cage and added ankle support in the neoprene upper help keep those ankles from rolling, double layer mesh to let water in and out without letting sand in. Wild Country VC Pro 2 Belay Device

Wild Country VC Pro 2 Belay Device

Rating for this product: 5 June 6, 2011

I love this belay device so much that I own about 6 of them! I keep a couple strictly for climbing and I use the rest for canyoneering! The curved side is perfect for a nice smooth rappel at the top and when you need more friction, just effortlessly move the rope over to the grooved teeth side to help add friction on long rappels! If it's a small rappel simply flip it around and use the smooth side to avoid too much friction with the grooved side!

I own 2 smalls and 2 mediums and I love them! They work great for canyoneering trips to keep my stuff dry and when packing for the trip I use them as compression bags for my clothes to save space! These are durable and come with a little repair kit. The valve on the side is super useful in letting the air out when you roll and compress the top. Remember to close the valve tightly though or it might come undone and let water into your dry bag. These are bigger than they look!

Skullcandy FMJ Ear Buds w/Mic

Skullcandy FMJ Ear Buds w/Mic

Rating for this product: 4 June 5, 2011

Don't get me wrong on this one. I like these earbuds and I know lots of people who love them but I think they sound kind of hollow. I mainly listen to old school hip hop and they just sound a little echo'y. as for the fit, they fit great if you don't have really small ears like mine.

It is true that they will eventually break/stop working, but when that happens, simply send them to Skullcandy and they will send you the most up to date pair for free with their Lifetime Warranty! You can't go wrong with that! Beware that if you smash them or something where it is your fault they broke you will only get %50 off your replacement pair from Skullcandy, but if they break on their own, Skullcandy will replace them for free!

XCEL Hawaii Drylock Glove - 3mm

Rating for this product: 3 June 5, 2011

I have a pair of these gloves that I use for canyoneering in really cold water. They are a pain in the but to put on and take off and nearly impossible if your hands are wet, but they are warm, you can use a camera, and they let very minimal amounts of water in. I like them and they work great for when I do use them. I would buy a second pair when the time comes to replace my current ones.

Perfect Mount For a Pole

GoPro Ride Hero Bike Mounting Clamp

GoPro Ride Hero Bike Mounting Clamp

Rating for this product: 4 June 5, 2011

I use this mount on Powder Days snowboarding and it works great! I use it with a Trekking Pole so I can keep the pole short while it's not in use and extend it when I want to film myself! the trekking pole also has thicker on the expendable points so it fits better on the pole and you don't have to wrap tons of tape around the pole like you have to do with a ski pole. I also use this mount on my kiteboard handle while kiteboarding on the water. Fun views!

I only gave it 4 stars because it doesn't fit on a ski pole by itself. you need to make the pole thicker with tape or something because the mount doesn't go that small. I really don't know what GoPro is thinking by not making a ski pole mount yet. Anyway... This is one of my most used mounts!

XCEL Hawaii Drylock Glove - 3mm

June 3, 2011

These gloves are really hard to put on and take off and if you have a wrapped finger you would not want to wear these.

I wear a Small in most gloves, but I wear and XS in these gloves.

Thanks to the fans on GoPro's facebook page for answering this for me! The Wrist Mount doesn't attach to the leading edge, but it attaches to the Middle Strut. I'll post a pic when I get mine!

Does anyone know how you can strap this to your kite like the description says?

GoPro HD Helmet HERO

April 7, 2011

Same camera, but the only mounts that the Naked comes with is 1 curved sticky mount for a helmet. The only difference is the naked has 1 mount and the Helmet Hero has 6 mounts, 1 three-way pivoting side arm assembly, and 2 quick-release buckles.

GoPro Chest Mount Harness

August 27, 2010

I plan on using the HD GoPro Camera for Snowboarding. Has anyone used this harness for snowboarding? If so, does it work well, or should I avoid the harness and just use the helmet mount? Thanks!

Voile SD Mojo Split Snowboard

Voile SD Mojo Split Snowboard

Rating for this product: 4 February 22, 2009

I recently demoed a 166 and I'm 5'5" (that was the only size board they had). If your short like me (male runt) definitely go with the 154. the 166 was really heavy for me and I had a hard time turning the board in the powder. it was fun though!

ALPS Mountaineering Lightweight Series Air Pad

ALPS Mountaineering Lightweight Series Air Pad

Rating for this product: 5 June 20, 2008

My wife is pregnant with twins and she loves this pad! It's so soft and comfortable. It beats using a yoga mat during Lamaze and any other time she has to be on the floor. Highly recommended. Great price. Get one.

Good Tent, Could Be Better

Eureka Solitaire Tent 1-Person 3-Season

Eureka Solitaire Tent 1-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 2 May 28, 2008

This is my first Solo Tent. I bought this tent because of the weight, the color, the manufacturer, and of course the price. I like the tent, but I'm disappointed that it's not a freestanding tent, which means instead of the tent being held up by poles, it's held up by many steaks in the ground, which take longer to set up than a freestanding tent. And if you are going to set it up in the rain, by the time your done your tent will be full of water. Also Eureka put rubber protective tips on one end of the hooped poles to protect the tent when you slide the poles through the sleeves. They should have used plastic tips because the rubber tips grab onto the inside of the sleeves and make it very difficult and annoying to set up and take down the tent.

This has gotta be the best and easiest meal that you can take camping or hiking! It self heats evenly in 15 minutes and tastes like real chili from out of the cooking pot! I'm definitely going to get some more of these for my next adventure, but beware...you know what happens when you eat chili, don't ya...
