Ruffwear Approach Dog Pack

October 25, 2010

Bushwhacking county high points in Massachussetts:

My dog (65lbs) is wearing the red size medium pack, and her friend (40lbs) is wearing the green size small pack (with the straps cinched almost as small as they can go).

Still looking for an answer about the fill content of these booties. Is there a Baffin sales rep who can address this?

Stoic Merino 200 Bottom - Men's

December 15, 2011

i'm looking for a warmer mid- to heavy-weight wool baselayer. Does Stoic make these in a warmer version? If not, what are my other options?

Burton Dandridge Down Jacket - Women's

November 25, 2011

How 'packable' is this coat? What does it weigh? I'm looking for something for hiking, not snowboarding, so it needs to be stow-able for the uphills.

Ruffwear Approach Dog Pack

October 24, 2010

I tentatively disagree. I bought this pack in a medium for my black lab/golden mix puppy "to grow into", but it ended up being baggy on her full-grown frame (60lbs). I then bought a size small and she did great with that for a couple years until her metabolism slowed a little (65lbs); then the chest/under-arm strap became a little too tight. She is 68lbs right now and still wearing the small (because her medium ripped), but we are back to looking for a size medium on sale.
Delilah is a "tall"/slender dog though - not the usual barrel-chested lab - and a fuller-framed dog could well grow into a size large.

In the photo, my dog (65lbs) is wearing a red size medium pack in the previous model version; my friend's dog (55lbs) is wearing her green size small pack.

Arc'teryx Ether Crew Short-Sleeve - Women's

Arc'teryx Ether Crew Short-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 4, 2007

I bought two of these, in turquoise and brick red. They are soft, comfortable, extremely lightweight, and itch-free. I prefer the darker one, as the blue one is looking a bit dingy after numerous encounters with ground-in hiking dirt. Other than that, they look/feel as good as the day I bought them and I only regret that I don't own more. Highly recommended.
