Perfect pack for the Japan tour

Osprey Packs Porter 65 Backpack - 3900cu in

Osprey Packs Porter 65 Backpack - 3900cu in

Rating for this product: 5 July 8, 2009

I bought two of these (should have gotten three!) for my teenagers to use for a two week trip around Tokyo and Hiroshima, Japan. I used a different hiking pack because it was bigger, but ended up packing it in a duffle bag for the flights there and back.
These packs are lightweight yet durable and structured enough to protect the contents. We had four planes, customs, five hotel changes, four bus rides and three train trips and they still look new except for the one little strap retention clip that snapped off on the first plane.
I used the Eagle Creek cubes and half-cubes to compress the clothes and organize the contents - perfect fit!
The side and top pockets were handy. Zippers are sturdy and easy sliding. The compression straps are great to keep the pack as small as possible and keep contents from shifting.
We had a number of hikes while changing hotels and these packs were comfortable even after hours of walking. The straps stowed securely for loading on the buses/train/plane and quickly pulled out to carry the load. The padded handles on the top and side are comfortable, even when heavy, offer options on carrying vertical or horizontal, and makes loading in the bus overhead or taxi trunk a breeze.
We carried 25-40 lbs in each easily. They can handle more but I didn't need the teens whining!
Highly recommend for summer camps and mixed-mode transportation camping/vacation use.
I still may get another!

Best shorts in my closet!

Arc'teryx Alibi Short - Women's

Arc'teryx Alibi Short - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 22, 2009

I love 'em! Sturdy yet soft fabric. Waist rides lower than natural waist, but not so low I worry about my undies showing. The zip pocket keeps my wallet safe in a crowd. There are no back pockets though (as listed in the description) but the two front pockets are deep enough that I can get by without.
I gottwo colos for myself and just ordered another pair for my daughter.
Highly recommend them.

Arc'teryx Alibi Short - Women's

April 21, 2009

The Tech Specs say 2 front, 1 thigh and two rear pockets.
I don't see rear pockets in the photos. Do the shorts actually have rear pockets? I know the long pant does.

I don't know about the larger sizes mentioned in the reviews. I got scared off and ordered a small instead of my usual medium and it was way small. Otherwise seemed like a nice medium-weight Tee that I would have been happy to wear.

Rating for this product: 5 March 18, 2009

I got three colors and they are great for casual wear or running. No seam irritation, soft and enough elasticty to feel good and not slip around. Everything in the description is true. And more! Not a bad price on sale either.
