So these seem like sturdy strong sandals and if they were in line for what i wanted i would prob have loved them with 5 stars. Do not be fooled these things are heavy with a capital H and really are not in the least bit subtle...they are really loud for sandals (unless you buy the black straps). I am going on extended international travel and these things would have screamed "loud american" while adding what felt like 5 lbs to my pack. So in short if you are looking for around town sandals in a place like Boulder or some other gear flashing town they are perfect...if you want to carry these in your pack on a BC trip or to travel abroad definitely look elsewhere.

Believe me thieves in 3rd world countries are not in the least bit fooled by waist belts or neck pouches...but they never pat down your calf or thigh. This thing really holds on well and finally lets me relax about getting mugged b/c now i know they are not going to find what really matters. If you are a man this thing will only fit on your calf, and only thin ladies will get this on their thigh so consider what clothing you will be wearing to know if it makes sense

Patagonia Capilene 2 T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Patagonia Capilene 2 T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Super lightweight and one snag on a branch or thorn and you have problems. Does not boast the normal patagonia quality/durability. This is the right shirt if you are 100% focused on lightweight/breath-ability. I have very little to no faith in this shirt holding up under the weight and abrasions of a fully loaded backpack
