Black Diamond Axiom 40 Backpack - 2440-2563cu in

Rating for this product: 4 September 3, 2010

Only had the chance to pack it up and put it on seconds after I got. At first try its amazing how well it transfers weight to the hips and the reactiv technology is amazing. This pack really moves with you can't wait to try it out in the woods!

Alright got to try this out on a quick overnight. This pack is super comfortable and having the shoulders move with you makes a huge difference! I barley noticed having it during the three mile hike to out campsite.

Outdoor Research Micro Night Bivy

Outdoor Research Micro Night Bivy

Rating for this product: 3 November 18, 2009

I bought this bivy to protect my down bag in a snow cave. I have not used for that purpose yet but I did throw the bivy with my synthetic back out in the rain for a day to test it out a bit. In an hour of medium rain the top had soaked through and started wetting the bag. There was also a large amount of condensation granted the bivy was full zipped up. I would recommend this for use under a full size tarp to protect your bag from splash and water on the ground but would not trust to stand alone in any kind of storm.

Trustworthy tent

NEMO Equipment Inc. Nano Tent 2-Person 4-Season

NEMO Equipment Inc. Nano Tent 2-Person 4-Season

Rating for this product: 5 November 11, 2009

My first night in this tent was in a snowstorm in Yosemite. We got about 2 feet of snow overnight and the wind was blowing snow off tree limbs causing it to crash down on the nano with me and a buddy inside. The tent stood up to the abuse just find. I shook the walls every couple hours to keep snow from possibly collapsing the tent but the steep walls kept everything in check. If you guy out the tent right you should be fine in fairly strong winds however I would not recommend this tent for any serious 4 season use where extreme winds are possible it lacks the tie outs and poles most true 4 seasons have but i would trust it to get me through all but the most severe storms. I have had very little condensation issues with this tent. If you use the vents properly a small amount of condensation may form on the walls but this happens will almost any tent. I keep a sponge handy for this reason. Buy the nano and you won't be dissapointed.
