Sick watch

Suunto Core Altimeter Watch

Suunto Core Altimeter Watch

Rating for this product: 5 March 12, 2012

I snagged one of the Anniversary editions and it is great. The Altimeter is pretty accurate when hiking and its really easy to set your elevation to begin with. I love how it automatically changes from the alti to baro depending on your activity. The black face with white text is really sharp and easy to read. It was one of the major selling points for me because i didn't see many other companies doing that. I get compliments on the watch all the time. The sunrise and sunset function is really cool too and its surprisingly accurate. The only gripe had was the band alone with almost everyone else who has reviewed this watch. Its not BAD, but its not GOOD. I have skinny wrists and it creates a space between the watch face and the band. Its not very sturdy either.

Great mid weight socks

Stoic Merino Comp Trail Crew Sock - 3pr

Stoic Merino Comp Trail Crew Sock - 3pr

Rating for this product: 5 March 12, 2012

Great socks. Really warm and I love the cushion on the bottom. Its not too much like a lot of the other socks out there. I wear them to work because of how comfortable they are. These are the only socks I have hiked in and they have held up really well. They are warm when you need them to be and are able to breathe as well. They don't stink even after wearing them a couple times. They fuzz a little bit like other reviews, but have held up for a couple months so I'm not too concerned.

Great lightweight pretty warm down jacket

Stoic Hadron Down Anorak - Men's

Stoic Hadron Down Anorak - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 12, 2012

I bought this jacket a couple months ago and love it so far. It is unbelievably light weight and it feels like you are wearing really warm air. The hood is a nice touch and adds a little warmth for those colder days. I thought the jacket was going to be a little warmer and thicker based on the pictures. It is in-between the luft synthetic insulated jacket and the luft down sweater. The kangaroo pocket is nice, but I would have rather had it zip all the way down or button all the way down. The wrist gaiters a little tight which is great for keeping heat in, but makes it difficult to get on and off since it is a pull over. i bought the graze color and it is a brighter green which looks really cool. I am 6'2" 175 and the medium fits great everywhere but the sleeves. They are borderline too short for me. I don't know if i would have paid the full $180, but if you can get it on sale and need a medium warm down jacket, this will be a great addition.

Great pants

Stoic Microlith Softshell Pant - Men's

Stoic Microlith Softshell Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 September 19, 2011

I have had these pants for a couple months now and can now post a fair review of them. They have kind of a funky look to them because they taper down to the ankles. I don't know if I would wear them out and about, but the functionality of the pants is worth it. I have used them climbing and they don't restrict your movement at all. They have a stretchy feel and give a lot so they will never get in your way. I have also hiked numerous times in them and they have worked well for me. Weather has ranged from 85-50 and they have been great in both extremes. The tapered fit may look weird, but they fit perfectly around the top of my boots which makes for a great fit. I ran into rain twice while hiking and it kept the rain out for a little bit, but it eventually seeped through the material so i would agree with the water-resistant rating. The single pocket was hard getting used to. I didn't like it to much at first because I like to carry wallet, keys, phone and such in the pocket, but I guess for weight sake, its okay. I wear a 33-34 waist and have a 33-34 inseam and the large fits perfectly.

Stoic Stash Shell - Men's

August 26, 2011

I just talked to one of the BC representatives and they informed me that this one is more breathable. The only other difference (other than the side pockets) is the material and the welded construction. I bought the Vaporshell a couple of weeks ago and love it.

Just what I was looking for

Stoic Thrive Short - Men's

Stoic Thrive Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 23, 2011

These shorts were exactly what I was looking for. I wanted some lightweight shorts for hiking, running, climbing, and just wearing around town. They do have small pockets, but they have been able to fit everything I have needed so far. They do run a little small, but the large fit me perfectly per other reviewers recommendations. I wear 33/34 by the way. The welded seams and stretchy material are a nice touch too. If you are looking for some ultralight weight shorts for climbing, hiking, or anything else you use shorts for, you can't go wrong with these.

Perfect. Just what I was looking for.

Stoic Luft Down Sweater - Men's

Stoic Luft Down Sweater - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 29, 2011

I absolutely love this jacket. I bought this jacked last December and it was my favorite jacket this season. It is extremely warm and extremely light. I described it to my friends as wearing really warm air. I love that its not too puffy like most down jackets out there. They make you look like the Michelin Man and this does not. I am 6'2" and 170 lbs and the Medium fits me perfectly. I got the black/tang and I love the color combination. The orange is a brighter orange so it doesn't look like I'm dressing up for Halloween. I also like how it compresses and is able to pack down really small. I get tons of compliments when I am out wearing this jacket. I like the quality of Stoics garments as well. They are still a smaller company so it seems they are still able to put some love into their equipment.
