Outdoor Research Stormbound Jacket - Men's

March 7, 2012

Just to help show the "diablo" color; the strap in this pic (which is not part of the jacket) is hunter orange and black. Overall the jacket color was just too bright for my liking, and had to return. Other features are pretty sweet and as expected from a OR jacket (watch the video). Im 6' 175# and the M was a bit on the loose side but not bad.

Upgrade from high sierra bite valve

Upgrade from high sierra bite valve

Platypus Shut Off Valve

September 16, 2011

Got this to upgrade the bite valve on a High Sierra bladder from Costco. Had two bladders so you can see the original vs. Platypus valve with the Platypus Hyperflow Bite Valve (item CAS0587). Make sure to cut the hose back 2cm before putting the new valve on so the hose can properly seal to the new valve.

66 North Iceland Stormur Jacket - Men's

66 North Iceland Stormur Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 12, 2012

This fleece jacket is a slim athletic fit, and a bit different then most US fits/styles. Im 6 ft 165# usually get a M in brands such as TNF, Patagucci, OR, but based on other reviews I got a Large. I probably could have gone XL. I like the contoured fit of the large but not much room for more than a t-shirt or base layer. The pit areas ride a bit high and do not have extra fabric so at times the sleeves ride up a little when really reaching out. I use this as a around town and campus as a casual hoody. It does not block 100% wind but a light breeze will go unnoticed. The lowest temp I used this in was 20F and was still plenty warm. I got this on SAC and would not have payed full retail price. Oh, and yes european zippers, nice furry soft inside that gets a little static; still I kept the jacket.

G3 Trim Tool

G3 Trim Tool

Rating for this product: 5 February 9, 2012

Eliminates the need to reposition skin to trim the other edge. Not sure how others have had problems. Make sure to trim from tip to tail or you will be fighting the entire cut. Used this tool for my first time cutting my own skins. Worked great on the BD Ascension STS. Well worth the $4.
P.S. G3 also has a great Twin tip Connector Kit that is compatible with the BD STS skin.

Stoic Breathe 90 T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Mens

Stoic Breathe 90 T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Mens

Rating for this product: 5 July 9, 2011

Im 6' 170 lbs. Got a M & L on SAC. I wear both sizes, depends on my mood / activity but find myself going for the M more often because is seems to perform better when a little closer to the skin. Guess it just depends how you want your shirt to fit but keep in mind the material is stretchy. I would also highly recommend the Stoic Merino 150 crew but i found the L in the Merino fits like a M Breath 90 shirt.
