im 5'10" and ride the 189@+5 with sth16s, and you will prolly regret not getting the 189s if you go with the 179s, ps i ride them in the east as well as in utah almost EVERY day

Oakley Crowbar Goggle

January 7, 2010

im an EC er myself and i use the HI intensity yellow quite a bit, its good at night and for
"our" flat light conditions, it seems to work well when it is partly cloudy out too, our blue bird days are far and few in between (IMO Persimmon sucks on the east)

DAKINE Concourse Double Ski Bag

DAKINE Concourse Double Ski Bag

Rating for this product: 5 January 7, 2010

Great Bag! if you actually put skis in it you don't need any internal suspension or crap that the guy who rated this with two stars implied. I've had this bag for two seasons now and use it when traveling to VT, UT, and AK. Have never had issues with it in the airport (fly Jet Blue) I've packed it with over 145lbs and had no issues getting it from point A to B. I use the 200cm cause i have the 189 Hellbents and they fit nice and snug!

K2 Hellbent Alpine Ski

You really might want to consider getting the 179, im 5'10" and have the 189, these skis actually ski shorter than you would think. I've used this ski in the East (yeah thats right on groomers and all), in Utah and various other places where the snow is deep. Although this ski shines in the deep, i have found it to carve on groomers rather nice you just have to muscle it a lil bit and let the ski know that you're the boss! Enjoy man hope this helps ya out
