Asolo Fugitive Gore-Tex Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 24, 2010

So bought these at Backcountry. Am an avid hiker, Ca.PCT, Montana ,Tetons etc. and could not find to many "professional" reviews. I tried all the "editor picks" and some of the so called BEST boots. I finally gave these Asolo a try at my local Recreational member type store. Immediately noticed how my foot and ankle dropped comfortably into this boot. The toe box was more roomy than others. Locking upper aglet is nice touch. Lightweight and good roll rigidity. Walked the store and climbed the fake rock faces several times trying to get toe slam and could not do it. Walked for quite some time on more imitation rocks and could not find a hot spot on my feet. They were asking full price and told myself I would have to wait.
I have purchased in the past from BC and hopped online to see if maybe they had the same boots. Chatted online with a rep. Still expensive but as we were winding down she offered me a great total pkg deal including BC gaurantee and reminded me of thier shipping policy. I did not intend to purchase but before I knew it I was receiving my shipping tracking number. She worked a great deal for me and I have worn these boots on 3 hikes: Sierras, Kings Canyon and Trinity. Very satisfied customer as I have been with past purchases. The only small occasional issue I may have with these boots is you need to be careful: while putting them on toadjust the tongue perfectly as the webbed part has a tendancy to fold over and create a little pinch point at the top of the foot. Easily noticeable and easily correctable. Only happen once. Thanks for the gr8 service and if your rep is single?????? well you know you have my info? Ray
