The North Face Doubletrack 21Travel Pack - 2750cu in

May 10, 2009

I recently took this on a week vacation to Cabo and although I had another bag, I could have packed everything in here. I packed 4 pairs of board shorts, 4 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of pants, about 8 t-shirts, 3 polo shirts, 3 collared shirts as well as toiletries, a spare pair of flip flops and underwear. I also detached the small backpack and put my computer, AC cord, iPod, camera, passport, wallet and headphones in it. Be warned that it will not fit a 15 in computer though. I have a 15 in MacBook and it stuck out the top, not a huge deal for me though. I rolled that load most of the time but carried it in backpack mode though the airport when rolling wasnt convienient and it wasnt a problem, I'm a 6'1" 180 lb guy though. If you're a tall thin female with back issues I would roll the main bag and carry the small pack all of the time. That being said, I am extremely happy with this purchase, the bag(s) are incredibly well made and sharp looking. It fit perfectly into a Continental overhead compartment (with the smaller bag under my seat).

Great bag for all school needs

Oakley Icon Backpack 3.0

Oakley Icon Backpack 3.0

Rating for this product: 5 May 10, 2009

I use this bag for med school and its great. I put my computer in the built in sleeve, which I can access from a separate zipper on the side. I'm also usually carrying a power cord, a few books, water bottle, sunglasses case, some workout clothes and food. It's the perfect size and comfortable under a heavy load. The smaller compartments are great for organizing keys, pens etc and I can reach back, unzip, access and re-zip a side pocket without taking the pack off. Solid Oakley product!

A vs. Crowbar vs. Wisdom with Giro Helmet

Oakley A Frame Goggle

Oakley A Frame Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 May 10, 2009

Great Goggles, amazing optics, no surprise from Oakley...

I find these fit much better with a Giro Helmet than the Crowbars or Wisdoms. I tried both of those models and they were way too big to fit comfortably with my (M Men's) helmet. A frame was the way to go.

Volkl Tigershark 12 Foot Power Switch Alpine Ski w/ Motion iPT 14.0 TS Binding

Rating for this product: 5 March 9, 2009

I'm a new skier (former snowboarder). Started skiing on other skis this season, bought these after getting an amazing deal on them. I ski on the east coast and these skis are awesome in the harder, icier conditions we have here. Awesome skis, can't wait for next year so I can use them for the entire season.

I have a bunch of different fleece tops, this is by far the most comfortable and the best made. But what else do you expect from Patagonia?

Best cold weather socks

SmartWool Adrenaline Mid Crew Hiking Sock

SmartWool Adrenaline Mid Crew Hiking Sock

Rating for this product: 5 March 9, 2009

I probably own 10 or 12 pairs of these socks. The key is to buy them en masse when they are on sale. I live in upstate NY and wear them everyday during the fall/winter/early spring. If you only wear cotton socks you have no idea what your missing.

Best multitool

SOG Knives PowerLock Multi-Tool

SOG Knives PowerLock Multi-Tool

Rating for this product: 5 March 9, 2009

I have owned both a Gerber and a leatherman multitool and the SOG blows both of them away without question. It is very well made, you can feel the quality when you hold it in your hand. I'm not surprised it's the multitool of choice for Navy EODs.

Arc'teryx Rho LTW Zip Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Arc'teryx Rho LTW Zip Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 9, 2009

This was my first Arc'teryx purchase. Very happy with the quality, found the fit to be a little small (had to return the M for a L). Very high quality wool, breathes very well, never smells.

Great under a shell, chilly alone in the wind. People love touching you when you wear it because it looks like you killed a muppet and crawled inside.

Great bang up pants. Order a size up if you're in between waist. Other than the smaller than usual waist, I absolutely love them.

Great Helmet!

Giro G9 Wireless Audio Series Helmet

Giro G9 Wireless Audio Series Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 March 9, 2009

Giro does helmets best! Very comfortable, fits Oakley goggles well (I use the A frames) and keeps my head very comfortable in the coldest conditions. Recently went skiing solo and it was great to have music from my iPod on the chair. I made a few calls through the helmet and my music was paused automatically. The audio while using the phone is very good, even on a chairlift, people had no problem hearing me at all. Easy to use controls, even with gloves on. If your phone has bluetooth it will work with this helmet, you do however need to get the Skullcandy bluetooth adapter for your iPod.
