Marmot Tamarack Jacket - Men's

Marmot Tamarack Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 22, 2010

great fit.i am now 190lbs 6' and the xl fits nicely.a little big on the chest but with a layer its perfect.
comparable to the tnf mountain light, but i like this tamarack a bit better.
so far i have zipped in the tnf khumbu, redpoint, and nuptse(all are longer in the neck, but zip in.
the mountain hardwear subzero definitely zips in,but is too bulky.
the guides down is too smooth.
the ama dablam zips in on one side(just like the staff at bc told me).
this jacket is great quality.
it just replaced my mountain light jacket.

The North Face Mountain Light Jacket - Men's

The North Face Mountain Light Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 2, 2010

This jacket is awesome.
I was worried about the plain look, but it is actually quite stylish.
I wont be using this in the mountains or anything,so I can't comment on it's technical use,but for kicking around the city this is money well spent.
I layered in a khumbu,a nuptse,a redpoint,and even a mountain hardwear subzero.
It is most comfy with the redpoint.
This is a nice jacket. It looks plain in the picture, but it is very cool, and warm enough by itself in 30 degrees.
6' 195 lbs/athletic build, and this is a little oversized, but the other tnf jackets I have are all XL,and they zip in quite nice. The MHW subzero zips in nicely too,but the collar comes up slightly shorter.
This is a nice jacket.I'll leave the tech specs to the mountain men,but for the city, this is good enough,no matter the weather.

The North Face Apex Bionic Thermal Jacket - Men's

January 16, 2010

whats the activity?
need it for rain?
about even to me for warmth, but the r4 is more comfortable as a stand alone.
for 35 degrees and above you should be ok with a lite layer under either.
for activities i'd go withn the r4,but for lite rain and wind,i'd go with the apex.

Patagonia Footwear Ranger Smith Waterproof Mid Boot - Men's

Patagonia Footwear Ranger Smith Waterproof Mid Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 15, 2010

runs about 1/2 size too large.
one of THE BEST boot's I have ever owned.
very comfortable, and very warm.not too heavy.
great traction.nice style.
i have danner's,and tnf boots/shoes.theses are better quality.
when i need a boot, whether casual or hanging out, these are my go to boots.
get these, you'll love it.if you get it too big, just return it for the right size.it's worth it to get these boots and live in warm comfort.

The North Face Hot Toddy Shoe - Men's

The North Face Hot Toddy Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 15, 2010

i usually wear a size 12,but my foot measures out for a size 11-go figure.
i bought the 11.5 in these,as i have other northface shoes in 12,and they are a bit long, and thought i may be more comfortable when these shoes stretch out.
the 11.5 is ok.
the ankle is a bit tight at first.it does stretch out slightly, but still tight.
comfort/all day wear--yes,its better than i expected.
warmth--my feet still feel warm hours after i take these shoes off.
durability-great.
i just wish these came in 3/4 ankles because snow will get to your ankles in theses shoes.light snow, andcold weather are no problem.
the style is very nice.i bought the brown for next year, the black for this year.i usually go with ranger smith's from patagonia for deep snow, but these have been so comfortable, and supportive that i haven't put my rangers on since before x'mas(but i have worn my tnf stormpeak clogs-another nice one from tnf).

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 15, 2010

nice fit, good construction.warm, and comfortable(all i care about).feels more substantial than the tnf nuptse, but i still prefer the nuptse.this jacket wont disappoint you.
the fit is nice, though some complain about the long arms and short waist.
im 6' 195,and the xl is perfect(i have broad shoulders/longer arms).
remember,i'm writing a review not a composition paper so dont kill me for the punctuation and the grammatical errors.hahaaa.
i like the nuptse better only for the fit around the collar-thats more comfy than this collar, but the rest of this jacket is more comfortable than the nuptse.great puffy to add to your collection.

Spyder Dolomite US Ski Team Down Jacket - Men's

Spyder Dolomite US Ski Team Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 January 10, 2010

6' 195.XL has a nice athletic fit,but not much room to layer under.A layer over,is probably easier. At 19 degrees this jacket was ok,but still felt the cold after a 2 city block walk.the jacket is light.similar feel to the tnf thunder(i like the spyder better, but the nuptse better than the spyder).this is a nice jacket, but to me it's not the jacket that takes you to where the temps hover between positive and negative! The fit is very nice,but...

Marmot Mountain Down Jacket - Men's

January 1, 2010

we're about the same size(6' 195) and the XL,OR L
fits, its just that the XL was more of a parka type feel.the L is one of the most comfortable jackets I have(and I have alot).I use this one when theres wet snow, and for sledding/snowball fights with the kids.
At 205 the L will probably be just right.

Marmot Mountain Down Jacket - Men's

January 1, 2010

this jacketis definitely more comfortable than the nuptse.it fits well, and is quite warm.the loft is excellent(except the arms, but still adequate),and the powder skirt makes the fit.
i usually go with XL, but went with the Large in this one.W/out the hood its cool beans casual.
I'm 6' 195 athletic build(boy been saying that alot) and went with Large.
Nuptse is the go to that evryone has, this one is the one you love to wear to play in the snow.

The North Face Khumbu Fleece Jacket - Men's

The North Face Khumbu Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 1, 2010

decent mid layer, and quite comfy. Not as baggy as the denali/hoody.
for the money i chose the khumbu over the denali.
good buy for the money-i got mine from dicks for 6060$.6' athletic 195lbs. XL is fine, but definitely not a tailored look.hahaha.
nice fleece for the price.

The North Face Redpoint Insulated Jacket - Men's

The North Face Redpoint Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 1, 2010

simple insulation above 4o degrees.
nice affordable spring/fall jacket.
stylish??simple best describes it,but the fit is somewhat athletic-6' 195lbs xl.
the collar detracts from its style.
i recommend it.nice and sleek,but sometimes a fleece is more stylish/comfy(sometimes).

The North Face Apex Bionic Triclimate Jacket - Men's

The North Face Apex Bionic Triclimate Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 1, 2010

nice style.love the fabric of the shell.
great look, and get lots of compliments.
the liner is a lesser version of the tnf redpoint(which i love, and can use under the bionix shell).
nice all around >35 degree coat with a nice style.but under 30 degrees just isnt as warm as i expectd.i recommend it though, just not for the bitter cold.
