Mountain Hardwear Cima Alta Backpack - 1525cu in
January 15, 2012
The pocket isn't huge, but it's big enough to fit keys, and some snacks in. I can fit an Otterbox 2000 series in there, which is about 7x5x2 with a bit of room on all the sides.

CAMP USA C12/C10 Steel Linking Bars - 17.5cm
January 15, 2012
Personally, I wouldn't recommend using anything other than from Grivel, especially with crampons. Fit is important, but if you can't find the long bars, I'd consider sending them back and finding something that you would be able to get the long bars for. That's what I would do if I was in your situation. Hope this helps!

Mountain Hardwear Compressor Insulated Jacket - Men's
January 15, 2012
It's kind of hard to compare warmth, because everyone's idea of being "warm" is different. I have the Nitrous, and I use it as a midlayer when it gets super cold, and will use it down into the 30's otherwise.

Camelbak makes a lot of good hydration systems, their unbottle ones are awesome. I personally use an unbottle 100 system, and it works very well. There's other sizes for them too.

Mountain Hardwear Phantom Down Jacket - Men's

These are very compressible, they come with their own stuff sacks and pack down a bit bigger than a nalgene. I own the Nitrous, which packs down to the same size.

Houdini Thrill Twill Short - Men's
August 12, 2011
That's not a Typo. Backcountry is the only distributor of Houdini products here in the US, and currently the exchange rates between here and Europe aren't really too consistent, hence the high price.

La Sportiva Miura Vibram XS Edge Climbing Shoe - Men's
August 7, 2011
I can't really say about the fit with the Katana, but the fit of the Miura and the Miura VS is similar, but the VS is more aggressively downturned. The VS is designed more for bouldering, whereas the Miura excels on almost everything. I've used my Miuras for pretty much anything, and they do it all!
