La Sportiva Miura Climbing Shoe - Women's Discontinued Rubber
July 19, 2010
Sarah, I also wear an 8.5 street shoe and just got back from REI trying on the Miura's. Although they were out of the 38, the 37.5 seems like it's the right choice. Extremely snug but not cutting off circulation or anything.. ;]
Anyways, I'm ordering the 37.5, 38's would probably work as well if you're wanting them a little looser.

Scarpa Rockette Climbing Shoe - Women's
December 17, 2009
They are smaller than La Sportiva. I use La Sportiva's Nago size 38.5 and ordered the Rockette's in size 38.5 (I wear a 8.5/9 in street shoes). And I literally lose circulation to my feet while wearing the Scarpas. They're a great shoe, but I can't stay in them for over 5 minutes (maybe even less) without losing feeling in my entire foot.
I remember reading a review before I bought them that said it's a V0 just trying to get into the shoe. I hoped that wasn't going to be true. It is.
These shoes are killer, but maybe too killer for my feet.
