Decent locking beaner

CAMP USA Orbit Screw Gate Carabiner

CAMP USA Orbit Screw Gate Carabiner

Rating for this product: 4 February 4, 2011

Picked up two of these to use with my daisy chain setup. It's a locking beaner, and performs as it should. I have noticed that the collar seem to screw on too tight, almost to the point of bending out the walls. (of the collar) Haven't had any problems yet, but something to note. I would buy them again for the price.

Great socks

SmartWool PhD Outdoor Light Mini Sock

SmartWool PhD Outdoor Light Mini Sock

Rating for this product: 5 February 4, 2011

I have owned a few different pairs of merino wool socks. These are by far my favorite. Thick heel section increases the life. Warm, but still breathable for those long outings. would recommend to anyone.

EPIC

Stoic Merino Boxer Brief - Men's

Stoic Merino Boxer Brief - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 4, 2011

Nothing is better than a good merino wool layer. That holds true for the Stoic boxer briefs. These things rock! Wear on them on long backpacking trips, and rest assured the funk wont be present. Give them a quick wash in a river, hang them to dry, and your back in business. Cotton is dead to me.

Stoic WPF Compression Sack

Stoic WPF Compression Sack

Rating for this product: 4 February 4, 2011

Picked one of these up right before a 3 day backcountry ski trip. Worked great for my sleeping bag and all the extra layers( I have the large, and yes it's LARGE) Easy to compress down, especially with the valve. I would definitely buy another one, and it's a stoic product so you know the quality is there!

Merino is kind

Stoic Merino Crew - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Stoic Merino Crew - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2010

A thin merino wool shirt is the perfect base layer for year around afairs! Be aware they are very thin, so wearing them while bush wacking isn't a good idea. But weather its summer heat bike rides, multi days backpacking trips, or 8 hours on the skin track, I always wear these shirts! The stoic quality is always a bonus,

Transfer 3

Black Diamond Transfer 3 Shovel

Black Diamond Transfer 3 Shovel

Rating for this product: 5 April 23, 2010

gets the job done, great quality. Exactly what you would expect from black diamond products!

I also like the smaller size of the transfer 3, allows me to get into smaller places and really move some snow.

terra 65

The North Face Terra 65 Backpack - 3950cu in

The North Face Terra 65 Backpack - 3950cu in

Rating for this product: 4 April 23, 2010

I have had this pack for about a year now, it's been everywhere from southern utah deserts, 11k foot peaks, Bush wacking through thick oakbrush, and it's still rocking on! I used it on my 30 times this season splitboarding as my winter pack. I have packed this thing to the brim, stuffing every possible pocket, the support still holds up. The front stretch pocket is wonderful to shove full. I would say it has over 100 days worth of use on it, with 50% of them being packed with +25lbs, and 50% of those having +35lbs. The mesh backing is great on those hot summer hikes.

There are a few draw backs. The top pouch is attached on the back side, and at times is a bit to short to cover the opening at the top. This only occurs when your really loading the bag up. I also wish it had some pockets on the waist belt. There is also a bit of stretch in the optifit system, which at times, will grow slightly and I have to re-adjust the pack. But I only notice this when the bag is heavily loaded with weight.

Overall I have been VERY satisfied with this pack. I would give it 5 stars, but the top pocket is holding me back. For the price, I think it's a great bag. Thanks northface for such a great product!

Dawn Patrol!

Backcountry.com Dawn Patrol Vaccuum Coffee Tumbler - 3-Pack

Backcountry.com Dawn Patrol Vaccuum Coffee Tumbler - 3-Pack

Rating for this product: 5 April 23, 2010

These vacuum tumblers work wonders! I tested them for heat retention one blistering cold winter day. After two hours, with 140 degree liquid in them, they had lost only 20 degrees, all while being in the snow. I use them to take tea with me on long day adventures, or as a cup on our longer multi day journeys. I haven't had any of mine leak, and would definitely buy them again!

Evolv Defy

Evolv Defy Climbing Shoe

Evolv Defy Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 5 April 23, 2010

I purchased these as my first climbing shoes off geartrade.com. Having only used 1 other pair of shoes I knew very little about them. I got a size 10, normally I wear a size 10 in street shoes. They are a bit snug on my toes, but after a dozen uses they are really starting to feel great! To top it off, these things have partially recycled soles(a big plus in my book). I would recommend these shoes to anyone.
