Raichle is still around

Mammut Shasta GTX Hiking Boot - Women's

Mammut Shasta GTX Hiking Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 October 19, 2009

I just got the boot, have done a couple hikes, and so far I like it. Had a previous Raichle boot which never gave me a blister from day 1. Mammut boot gave me heel blisters to start but seems to fit well otherwise. Will break it in and see what happens. A little short footed though so bought 1/2 size bigger.

Scarpa Mustang GTX Lady Hiking Boot - Women's

Scarpa Mustang GTX Lady Hiking Boot - Women's

Can't give stars to the shoe because didn't buy but just wanted people to know if you have a wider foot, even if don't take Wide shoes, don't bother to order. Otherwise, construction looks good.

Gotta sleep on your back with this one!

Therm-a-Rest Z-Lite Sleeping Pad

Therm-a-Rest Z-Lite Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 2 October 19, 2009

I thought I'd try the Z-lite sleeping pad even though some people said not great for side sleepers. Well, it's not great for side sleepers. Took to Long's Peak in Colorado in hopes of saving some weight for the 14'er approach. But worst night of sleep in my life! Needless to say, was not in peak form for the next day.
