For the money these gloves cannot be beat. While not water proof, they are great for light winter hikes, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. Tactile gip is very good and they can be used as liners under shells when needed in colder and/or wetter conditions. All of our family members have these and love them. Please bring these back!

A perfect size winter pack for my outdoor winter activities: cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking. They can hold my skis while snowshoeing and vice-versa. The insuted hydration sleeve and lined waist belt pockets are great features. I am 5'7" and find this pack to be a great fit.

Nothing much to add to all the great reviews. I have a couple of these belts (differnt colors)and they are my "go-to" belts for all casual and outdoor activities. They will not slip and maintain their appearance for years.

This past winter was exceptionally cold and snowy and this set fit the bill for all outdoor cross-country,snowshoeing,and hiking activities. When used with my soft shell top and bottoms I was good in temperatures from 10 - 35 F. If I added my Capilene3 layer I could easily go down to 0 F. Mountan Hardwear makes some of my favorite performance clothing and these items are at the top of my list - comfortable, form fitting, and good at wicking away moisture. At 5'7" and 215#, the XL top and L pants fit well.

This is a very good assembly of the basic self-rescue equipment you will need for kayaking. I purchased the Deluxe kit and while the deck bag and paddle leash are not absolutely necessary, they both make life easier when attempting self rescues as I learned in kayaking classes. The bag is a low profile design and keeps everything together on the bow deck and does not impede compass viewing or catch excess wind. The included signal mirror is an ACR model which is argueably the best of it's class. The bilge pump is a very good value and the NRS paddle float is also regarded as the best inflatable float on the market. It works well for this 215# paddler.

From other reviews I always assumed Brunton makes quailty compasses. I just purchased a kayak and wanted a compass for touring. Upon receipt of the compass I noticed it was wet and slimy when I removed it from the packaging. Being a liquid filled compass, the oily liquid had leaked out and the compass was almost empty. While there were noticeable breaks or cracks in the unit, the base is simply sealed with a plastic material. Very disappointed and will probably never purchase another Brunton compass (will stick with Silva and Suunto). This unit goes "back" to "Back"country.

I'll start off by saying that I am not a hat person. I have never really looked good in them and very few actually appeal to me aesthetically. That being said, while I do wear a ski hat or baalaclava when snow blowing or under really adverse winter condtions, I have felt the need for a more "casual" hat to brave most of winter. The Seattle Sombrero always appealed to me but I really wanted something a bit heavier and to cover my ears when cold. The Snoqualmie Sombrero fits the bill perfectly! You can use the fold down ear/neck cover or fold in up in the hat. Same for the chin drawstring. The inside Cinch-Band adjustment is also a great feature. I now grab this hat every time I leave the house in winter - whether snowshoeing, hiking, cross-country skiing, or even out on the town!

These is my first pair of Keen footwear. While I normally wear a 10 1/2 in a boot, the 11 size fit me well and still leaves some room for my heaviest pair of wool socks (or socks and liner). I especially love the genererous and rubber capped toe box. These boots are extremely comfortable with very little break-in required. I have worn them for everyday, on winter hikes, and on several snowshoe excursions. They worked well in all cases, keeping my feet warm while still providing adequate support. I liked them so much I searched high and low to find my wife a pair as well (evidently the women's Summit County have been discontinued). She also upsized from her normal womens 7 to 7/12 and loves the boots. Since buying these I have ordered the Newport Hiking Shoes, Newport Sandals, and Newport H2 sandals. Great footwear!
