I use this thing for mild to cold weather hikes, and sometimes a layering piece for skiing. It wicks moisture fairly well and doesn't smell too bad after. It doesn't do too well in the wind, but it is not really made to. It can also be a sweet climbing piece if the weather is just above freezing to mid 50's

I could hang all day in this

Black Diamond Momentum AL Harness

Black Diamond Momentum AL Harness

Rating for this product: 5 5 days ago

Seriously, I have fitted it to be that comfortable. Now I haven't done any super long routes, but I have spent hours hanging with no complaints really. I am yet to use it in the snow, but the adjustable leg loops have already been a god send. It's worth the price, young or old I highly suggest one.

p.s. Racking gear on this thing is as easy as it gets.

A Classic

Black Diamond Oval Carabiner

Black Diamond Oval Carabiner

Rating for this product: 5 5 days ago

It's a great stand by 'biner that is good for just about anything, I have been able to find a million and a half uses for these, but they are the best when loaded with gear. I even carry a few with my rock rings so I can adjust the length on the fly, sweet!

Wild Country Wild-Wire Quickdraw - 5 Pack

Wild Country Wild-Wire Quickdraw - 5 Pack

Rating for this product: 5 5 days ago

These draws are probably the best bang for your buck you can get out there. They are super light, affordable, easy to clip and rack. Some times the silver 'biner gets flipped around but it is no big deal if you are used to it and can properly avoid it. I use them for trad and sport and I have no complaints, I even get compliments from some old timers at how good they look!

Best sandals I have every purchased.

Chaco Z/1 Unaweep Sandal - Backcountry.com Exclusive - Men's

Chaco Z/1 Unaweep Sandal - Backcountry.com Exclusive - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 8, 2009

I love these things. They are one of the most versatile pieces of footwear that I own. I have yet to take them on the river where they are most at home, but I have walked through many a creek and never had to worry about falling. These are also great as a casual sandal when let loose, and I even backpacked out 4 miles with about 2000 feet of elevation gain, and going down about 1000 feet, and only encountered some red spots because I had only owned them for a few days. Needless to say it would be very tough to be disappointed when purchasing these shoes, they are also bombproof!

La Sportiva TC Pro Climbing Shoe

I have not worn a pair, but talked to a guy who has been wearing them for a few weeks and says they take a day or two, but will stretch up to a full size.

Incredible

DMM Wallnuts Set

DMM Wallnuts Set

Rating for this product: 5 October 2, 2009

I love placing a good nut in funky cracks. These are much more solid than the BD nuts it many situations, and apparently it is hard to place a bad one even when I would be terrified to take a fall on one, my second said it was bomber, and actually had to bust out the tool.

Best flip flops out there

Teva Mush Sandal - Men's

Teva Mush Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 31, 2009

Extremely comfortable, especially when the foam gets broken down to the shape of your foot. I use them for just about everything and don't ever plan on buying any other sandals other than these again.

Nalgene Wide Mouth BPA-Free Bottle - 32oz

Rating for this product: 4 July 31, 2009

I'm pretty stoked on the BPA Free Nalgene. I have only put water in it, and the water has been great, I haven't noticed a plastic taste. It's durable, but not as durable as I would like, but at this price it wouldn't break my bank to pick up a few more.

Keep your rock clean!

Black Diamond Brush Set

Black Diamond Brush Set

Rating for this product: 5 July 31, 2009

Any one who likes to use lots of chalk and use tick marks needs to invest in one of these sets! I see way to many marks on the rock that could be easily cleaned up, but that is where these come in handy. It is a great brush set and does the job when it comes to cleaning up after others.

Can't believe it!

Mountain Hardwear Wicked Lite Tank - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Wicked Lite Tank - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 31, 2009

These shirts are great! As soon as I threw it on it felt like nothing was there and I was in love. So far it has taken the abuse of lots of bushwhacking and offwidth climbing. And the best part, if you are headed off on a hot backpacking trip, and would like to go super light, this shirt packs extremely small and will still smell fine after 3-4 days of heavy use!

So what if it is a little longer, it is a casual shirt! Although they do with stand the abuse that I can throw at them. Maybe I like them because they fit me better than most shirts, or because I get to sport the best dealer out there, I don't know but I could wear these 8 days a week!

Therm-a-Rest Z-Lite Sleeping Pad

Therm-a-Rest Z-Lite Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 4 July 31, 2009

It's nice and light, and small! I have never used any inflatable pads for some reason, I guess I was just brought up on closed cell foam. But I didn't think that closed cell could be this comfortable. It is a little on the thin side for taking out in the winter, and if you like bushwhacking it will take quite a beating.

The North Face Terra 60 Backpack - 3700-3850cu in

Rating for this product: 4 July 31, 2009

I have had no problems with it yet, the suspension system is very easy to fine tune how you like your pack to sit, and it adjusts great on the fly. Very easy to walk all day with it loaded to its max. I would even take it for up to a week, maybe even more.

Very comfortable, super sticky

Vasque Mantra Hiking Shoe - Men's

Vasque Mantra Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 15, 2009

So far I have only done a few day hikes with these, and a lot of walking around town and boulder approaches, and I couldn't be happier. They are very solid and the vibram soles grip the rock like there life is depending on it. I would advise to waterproof them though as I did get mine soaked during a rain storm.

So far I love these cams, super solid feel to them, they place nice, and even on sketchy placements these seem to put me at ease. I would recommend adding these to any trad rack.

Marker Duke Ski Binding

May 19, 2009

They are the most solid AT binding you can get when it comes to charging. They are a little on the heavy side, and the hellbents are as well, so I wouldn't plan on touring for more than a few hours. More like backcountry/sidecountry jolts. And you have to take them off to get into touring mode. Another downside, but other than that they are great!

Alpine or tele?

Black Diamond Zealot Ski

Black Diamond Zealot Ski

Rating for this product: 4 March 23, 2009

I'm sure these would rip as an alpine ski, and I would love to give them a shot. But I actually took these out and learned how to tele on them. Honestly I had a blast, but I can't compare them to other skis as I have never tele'd before. But what I did notice is that these things seemed to be really stable after I got the hang of it. They definitely wanted to go much faster then I could, so if you have been tele skiing for a while and like to charge, I would say these are for you.

Awesome big mountain performance

Line Mothership Alpine Ski

Line Mothership Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 March 20, 2009

To start, I'm 6'2" and 180. So getting that out of the way, I think much smaller guys could rip these just as hard as I did. They were very light for how stiff they were and how well they skied. Unfortunately I was only able to ski them in icy crud, which they killed it in. I can only imagine how they react in the soft stuff. The stability of these at high speeds really allowed me to straight line even the sketchiest chutes with great confidence. I highly recommend these skis to any one looking for a high performance, stiff, charging, one ski quiver go anywhere big mountain ski.
