Exceptional build quality

Ruffwear Palisades Dog Pack

Ruffwear Palisades Dog Pack

Rating for this product: 5 August 4, 2011

The build quality on this dog pack is better than any pack I use myself. Love it's versatility too. I have two dogs...English lab (short and squat, think small hippo ~65lbs) and a golden (tall and skinny ~70lbs). I bought a medium and it works great on both body shapes. The older lab has knee issues, so we just use the harness without the packs to help her along when needed, or we can load it up work horse style for the golden. Great product!

Smith Anthem Goggle - Women's

Bought these for my wife after using the Smith Phenoms one time. Being able to see well can transform a shitty ski day into a great one. Everyone's happy.

Functional

Cloudveil Enclosure Hooded Insulated Jacket - Men's

Cloudveil Enclosure Hooded Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 August 4, 2011

Definitely hits on function, but leaves a little to be desired in the form department. Not the most flattering jacket I own, but who really cares. When it gets cold I'm always glad I can reach into my bag for this jacket. It packs up quicker than any other jacket I own (into an inner mess pocket).

Cloudveil Enclosure Hooded Insulated Jacket - Men's

August 4, 2011

No, I haven't noticed my arms getting cold faster than my torso. Also, it offers a little less bulk when layering.

Meh...

Stoic Monolith Softshell Jacket - Men's

Stoic Monolith Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 August 4, 2011

Not bad, not good. The long sleeves and thin writs made for a bunchy look in the sleeves, and uncomfortable when layering over. Welded seems were a little stiff, but not uncomfortable. Liked the material, but even at the SAC price, I couldn't justify keeping it. I prefer my cloudveil softshell.

A spot on compromise between technical and casual. Good jacket for a variety of temps and activities. Looks great and the orange color gets a lot of compliments.

Great Gift

The North Face Apex Bionic Softshell Jacket - Women's

The North Face Apex Bionic Softshell Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 August 4, 2011

Made a great gift for my wife. She's no diehard outdoor enthusiast, but likes to get out and about. Decent wind protection; water resistant for the same amount of time she's willing to stand in the rain; looks great. Only complaints...a little stiff; wrists are a tight fit (but that probably helps keep her a little warmer).

Anyone had this jacket long enough to know if the fabric loosens up over time?

Way better than expected

Stoic Luft Hoody Insulated Sweater - Men's

Stoic Luft Hoody Insulated Sweater - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 30, 2010

I had my eye on this jacket, but decided against it and bought last year's Cloudveil insulated mid layer instead (Enclosure Jacket no hood). The stitching and odd fit reviews detered me from the stoic. Then, the next day this popped up on S&C. I swipped the black/deep for $90 with every intention of returning it. The damn thing is perfect. I'm 5'10, 150lbs and got a medium. I can put a few small layers under it or a shell over (the helment hood makes it a touch bulky though). I'm praying I don't have stitching issues. Truth be told, I'll probably use the smaller cloudveil (i got a small) as an athletic layering peice and the stoic as an outer jacket on chilly days around town. Sorry bank account, its too good. Oh, and the 'deep' colored zippers aren't obnoxious like they look in pics.

Super comfy

Smith Vantage Helmet

Smith Vantage Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 December 30, 2010

I use to think i was too cool for helmets, but i guess everyone has to grow up some day. Needless to say, this is my first helment. Couldn't ask for a more comfortable helmet. Everyone's head is different, so try it on, but for me its perfect. The static-x liner is great; cuts down on all that static you get from hats/helmets.
