Amazing Telemark Skis

Liberty Helix Ski

Liberty Helix Ski

Rating for this product: 5 November 6, 2011

I ride these with 7tm releasable telemark bindings and they absolutely rip. They gave surprising grip on hardback in New England, but floated and powered through BC powder. Brilliant skis. They *do* chatter at speed on hardpack, so aren't ideal if you're a strict resort skier, but if you spend any time in the backcountry, get these, especially for tele. On top of all of their brilliance, they are ultra light so are great for those skinning or hiking days. A+ Liberty!

Great all-around travel pack

Black Diamond Sphynx Backpack - 1953-2563cu in

Black Diamond Sphynx Backpack - 1953-2563cu in

Rating for this product: 5 December 15, 2010

I've mountain biked, backpacked through Australia/New Zealand, hiked, and done backcountry skiing with this pack. In every case it has been awesome!! The fit is perfect, and the pack sits perfectly on me, transferring the bulk of the weight to my hips. I fit in 3 weeks of clothing and gear and was able to carry-on almost every airline I used (except one with a 7kg carry-on limit!).

I ordered this pack along with 4 others to do a comparison fitting and measurement- and it was the best of the five. If you're looking for a winter skiing pack that can double as an all-around carry-on bag, this is the one. The other packs I compared this with were: Black Diamond Predator 50, Mountain Hardwear Diretissima, Mountain Hardwear Dihedral, and Arc'Teryx Silo 40.

The only gripe I might have with the pack is that I chose yellow- and it gets dirty very easily!

This is my favorite jacket

Marmot Tempo Softshell Jacket - Men's

Marmot Tempo Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 13, 2010

This runs a bit small, but I like that. I can fit a solid baselayer underneath, but nothing more. I'm 5'9" and 155 lbs, and the medium fits snugly. I wear this jacket way more than I should. I bike, ski, rock climb, run, go out, go to class, and walk to work in this jacket. It rocks!

Breatheable for ascents or climbing, but keeps me warm(ish) on descents and cold days. Not an extreme weather jacket, for sure, but perfect for 75% of the weather Iencounter, and I live in New Hampshire.
