Alpina X Terrain Touring Ski

Alpina X Terrain Touring Ski

Rating for this product: 5 February 2, 2009

So far so good !! Had them out several times on modest terrain with and without prior tracks. They performed fine. Glad I went with them.

I should also add, that the folks at backcountry.com were great - a real pleasure to work with. Given their service and equipment assurance policies, it's tough to see how you can go wrong them. I have no financial interest in the company and think that when outfits do the right thing, they - and others - should be told !!

Backcountry Binding Review

Rottefella Rottefella NNN BC Magnum Binding

Rottefella Rottefella NNN BC Magnum Binding

Rating for this product: 5 February 2, 2009

I'm new at xcountry skiing. Been out several times in the backcountry this season and bindings worked just fine. They held up well to some unanticipated pressure points and never detached from skiis.

Decent Boots

Alpina BC 1550 Backcountry Boot DO NOT USE

Alpina BC 1550 Backcountry Boot DO NOT USE

Rating for this product: 4 February 2, 2009

I'm new to xcountry skiing. Didn't experience the problems indicated in some of the other reviews for these boots. Had them out several times in the backcountry on moderate terrain, and so far so good. The outter tongue is a little weird and takes some getting used to when lacing but otherwise all seems well.

I should also add, that the folks at backcountry.com were great - a real pleasure to work with. Given their service and equipment assurance policies, it's tough to see how you can go wrong them. I have no financial interest in the company and think that when outfits do the right thing, they - and others - should be told !!
