Great Hat

Marmot Shadows Hat

Marmot Shadows Hat

Rating for this product: 4 January 6, 2010

Last I checked, I think my cap size was about 7.75. Not a huge head, but not small either. This hat was able to cover my ears comfortably and keep them warm throughout my days on the slopes. Inner liner was nice and soft. Recommend.

Great Shell for Skiing

Marmot Red Banks Jacket - Men's

Marmot Red Banks Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 6, 2010

Great hard shell. Worked well against wind and snow. Obviously, this jacket requires a couple of layers underneath to keep warm. The hood greatly impaired peripheral visibility down the mountain. Otherwise, I would recommend as a great outer layer.

Roomy, Light, Versatile

Marmot Alpha 25 Backpack - 1550cu in

Marmot Alpha 25 Backpack - 1550cu in

Rating for this product: 5 January 6, 2010

Purchased this pack to keep some extra layers, food, and camera safely stored while on the trails of Taos Ski Valley. Worked just as I planned without being too bulky or heavy. Made a great carry-on bag for air travel as well. Highly recommend.

Tight fit hampers an otherwise good glove

Marmot Ultimate Guide Glove

Marmot Ultimate Guide Glove

Rating for this product: 3 January 6, 2010

First glove I've owned where I didn't feel like I needed to dash for hand warmers. Skied in temps ranging from upper teens to upper twenties and these gloves performed great in keeping my hands warm and dry. However, had issues with getting my left hand (with liner glove on) into the outer shell while on the trails. The pinky of my left glove seemed to get caught/stuck in the inner lining to the point where I just skied without the liner on my left hand. Recommend sizing up.

Good Base Layer from Marmot

Marmot Midweight Zip-Neck Top - Men's

Marmot Midweight Zip-Neck Top - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 6, 2010

Fit is a bit looser in the torso than, say, Patagonia's Capilene 3 base layer, but much warmer. Has a nice, luxurious feel without feeling too heavy or thick. Great wicking and odor resistance. Recommend.

Great Ski Pants

Marmot Palisades Pant - Men's

Marmot Palisades Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 6, 2010

Marmot Palisades Pant are not listed as ski pants on Marmot's website, but they work great. Used these in Taos Ski Valley, NM in temperatures ranging from the upper teens to about 30 degrees. Sun, wind, snow... I stayed warm and dry with a single base layer and these pants (even after a spill or two while going down some moguls). Fit true to size. Slightly relaxed in the thigh without being too baggy. Recommend.
