Great for those kids who hate boots!

Baffin Bananas Winter Boots - Kids' DO NOT USE

Baffin Bananas Winter Boots - Kids' DO NOT USE

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2009

I thought for sure that my nine year old son would hate these but got them anyways for the warmth and was prepared to do battle with him! Amazingly, he loved them! He said they were really warm and not heavy at all. They were comfortable and worked great the 3 feet of snow and below zero temperatures we have been having here in Milwaukee. This is the best snow boot I have ever bought. You will be amazed at how light it is!

The North Face Snowkat Clog - Boys'

The North Face Snowkat Clog - Boys'

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2009

My nine year old would rather wear his tennis shoes rather than boots any day. He needs to be able to run fast during recess and if there isn't a foot of snow on the ground it is a battle to get him to put on his heavy snow boots! They just aren't cool when there is some snow on the ground and it is just cold, but you'r e not trudging through it. This is a great compromise for both of us. It is warm enough, waterproof enough and comfortable enough that he is happy wearing them and I don't have to feel guilty about letting him go out without his snow boots on. Fro those other moms who struggle with their sons about wearing their tennis shoes year round, this is a great compromise - and he can run in them - fast!!!

Columbia Avalanche Ridge Jacket- Perfect!

Columbia Avalanche Ridge Jacket - Boys'

Columbia Avalanche Ridge Jacket - Boys'

Rating for this product: 5 December 22, 2008

Great jacket! My nine year loves it! Not too warm that he is sweating and taking it off when he is playing, but warm enough to keep him warm even when the temperature is 15 below with the wind chill like it was earlier in the week. He is outside playing in it right now. We just had a snow day here in Milwaukee - over a foot of snow since this morning with drifts up to a couple of feet. He is playing outside with just a long sleeve t-shirt under his jacket and is fine ( temp 30). The jacket is also fairly light-weight - so he doesn't feel weighed down by it. I think the weight and lightness of it are deceiving. He has never complained about being cold and we have had temperatures in the teens for two weeks now (he only wears a cotton long or short sleeve t-shirt underneath). The perfect jacket for an active 9 year boy!
