Patagonia Nano Puff Vest - Men's

June 21, 2011

Enjoying some coffee after a hike up the chimney tops in 18 inch drifts. The Nano Puff and Mtn HW merino shirt kept me warm and dry all the way to the top.

I seriously doubt it. Almost all trekking poles are sold in pairs now. If you need a replacement I would suggest contacted Black Diamond directly.

Harmony Deluxe Sit-On-Top Seat

July 19, 2011

Kathy,
As long as the seat provides ample support when you lean back it should be fine. Sit On Tops have different systems and it's hard to say what would be "correct" for your boat. If you can comfortably paddle from it's current location I wouldn't worry about it.

If this helped please Thumbs Up. Thanks.

Wilderness Systems Pamlico 100 Kayak

July 19, 2011

For this boat I would suggest a Harmony Clearwater Spray skirt. I'm not sure what size but it's easy to reference.

http://www.backcountry.com/harmony-clearwater-ttd-spray-skirt

As for paddles it's all a matter of how much you want to spend. Most of the lower end beginner paddles are comparable.

The only other accessories I would suggest is a dry bag for whatever you want to bring that won't fit in the hatch and most definitely a PFD (life jacket) of your desired style.

If this helps please Thumbs Up. Thanks.

The North Face Venture Pant - Women's

July 19, 2011

Yes the pants are essentially rain pants you wear over your shorts or pants. They match the North Face Venture jacket which is one of their base shells.

As for going up a size I would stick with what you normally wear because they are designed to be layered and TNF tends to run a little large anyways.

Please Thumbs Up if this helped. Thanks.

Thule Stacker Carrier

July 14, 2011

I have the stacker (different model but essentially the samething) and use it with none whitewater boats. The only issue is if your boat is particular tall...as in ground to top measurement...you may not be able to stack as many boats together. I'd say on an Outback 3 kayaks would be no problem. If this helped please Thumbs Up. Thanks.

Thule Excursion ES Cargo Box

It will definitely fit between the bars if that what you're concerned with. My family has a Tucson and Santa Fe and with this being 35 inches wide I'm sure the Santa Fe can handle it. Most of these type of products have adaptable mounts. Hope this helps. If it does please thumbs up. Thanks

Patagonia Footwear Ranger Smith Waterproof Mid Boot - Men's

July 14, 2011

As for waterproof-ness and material durability they would be fine. My only concern would be how much support you need/are used to while hiking. For day hikes these should work if your used to lightweight boots but I would be a little uneasy about big loads with these. If this helped please Thumbs Up. Thanks.

KEEN Newport H2 Sandal - Men's

KEEN Newport H2 Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 14, 2011

As a camp counselor I was all about the Chacos...that was until after a few days of wearing my Z2's my feet became really sore. Over the last few months this problem had come up more and more as I would wear my Chacos Fri-Sun and have sore feet until Wednesday. I had also grown tired of stubbing my toes and the occasional blister. With a friends suggestion I tried out the Newport H2's. So far so good. They fit like a glove and are incredibly comfortable out of the box. They do sweat my feet a little more than Chacos but the next time I'm wading and I slip I won't have a sore toe. On a side note I really like the India Ink/Rust color more than I thought I would. It kind of has a faded navy look to it.

Icebreaker SuperFine 200 Hopper T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 22, 2011

This is second favorite tee. It's only surpassed by my IB Superfine 140. This is definitely more durable than the really thin merino shirts and the cut it a little more relaxed. Just like all of my Icebreaker products this short does a great job of keeping stink down.

My favorite shirt

Icebreaker SuperFine 150 Tech Lite Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 22, 2011

This is my go to shirt. Whether it's my stand a lone layer in hot temps or my baselayer it performs amazingly. It was one of 3 shirts I took to Belize for 10 days and whether I was on the cayes or in the Bladen River Nature Reserve it was perfect. It's held up great through 50 plus days of wear. The only damage is were a belt wore a small hole in underneath a pack waist strap.

Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket - Women's

June 22, 2011

My fiance is 5 ft and right around 95-100lbs and she has a hard time wearing Patagonia since they tend to be fuller cuts in some items. They do not make petite sizes.

I did find these sleeve measurements for a different Patagonia jacket but imagine they would be similar.

Please see below for the sleeve length measured from the center back of neck, over shoulder to cuff with slightly bent elbow in inches for this item:

XSMALL 32.75, SMALL 34, MEDIUM 34.75, LARGE 35.75, XLARGE 36.75

Please thumbs up if this helped. Thanks.

Surftech iSUP Stand-Up Paddleboard

June 22, 2011

Another website gives 31 lbs as the weight of this board. I don't believe that the weight would directly affect performance. It maybe an indication of how durable the board is, but how rigid the board is definitely has a lot to do with performance. Hope this helps.

Measure around your chest at it's fullest point. Small is 38 inches, Medium 41 inches, Large 44 inches, and XL 47 inches. Keep in mine it's probably cut pretty full considering it's designed to be worn over other layers.

Werner Tybee CF IM 2-Piece Paddle - Straight Shaft

In my experience the higher quality two piece paddles work just as well as a one piece. They definitely make transportation and storage easier, and as long as the connecting sections aren't bent or warped they stay tight.

Kialoa Pupu Stand-Up Paddle

I was really impressed with how light in my hand the paddle was. The grip is very comfortable and the blade catches enough water that stay moving but don't tire out from dragging it through the water.

Decent jacket

Marmot Cauldron Insulated Jacket - Men's

Marmot Cauldron Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 June 21, 2011

Got this to fit with a Marmot shell. The lack of cuff attachments was one problem I had with it. I tend to wear my nano puff vest under my shell more than I did this so I returned. On the occasions I wore it did keep me warm and offered a good range of motion.

Sigg Steelworks Water Bottle - 1.0L

Rating for this product: 2 June 21, 2011

My only problem with this bottle is that lid slips when you tighten it up. I think the threads actually skip over the ridges in the bottle. Otherwise a good bottle. I'm more of a fan of Hydroflask, hint hint BC you guys should carry them.

Quality expected from Deuter

Deuter Spectro AC 38 Backpack - 2300cu in

Deuter Spectro AC 38 Backpack - 2300cu in

Rating for this product: 4 June 21, 2011

This pack is very well built and thought out. I purchased because it uses the same back ventilation system as my favorite Deuter daypack. The shove it pocket holds a lot and the horse shoe zipper is a great addition. The only thing I would change is the curve of the bars on the inside make the interior space "thin". If the whole pack bag was rounded off I think this would no longer be a problem. However this is still a great bag for overnighters and UL multiday trips.

Patagonia Polarized T-Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Patagonia Polarized T-Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 21, 2011

I purchased this to wear while kayaking and on the water. So far it's served as great sun protection. I've also worn it as insulation layer over a tee and under a rain jacket when the temperature dropped after a rain. So far odor hasn't been an issue like it can be with some polyester garments.

NRS Chinook Personal Flotation Device

NRS Chinook Personal Flotation Device

Rating for this product: 5 June 21, 2011

I've worn this vest on a few trips to the lake so far. It's great for wading and was comfortable for several hours of constant wear. It provides ample flotation and has lots of pockets and straps that are great for organization and keeping my gear close at hand. I'm 5'9" and 170lbs and the S/M fits me well.

Arc'teryx Axios Backpack 50 - Men's - 3051-3661cu in

Arc'teryx Axios Backpack 50 - Men's - 3051-3661cu in

Rating for this product: 5 June 8, 2011

I'm not an ultra-lighter but I don't take things I don't use. However, I do lead backpacking trips sometime and that requires me to carry a little more than usual. This pack fits great and the front pocket is amazing. I especially love the center zipper on the front since things migrate to the bottom sometimes and I don't have to pull everything out. The range of this pack is also impressive. Remove the lid (which has tons of pockets for organization) and compress the collar down is all I have to do to take it from a multi-day to a perfect overnighter for hammock camping. I look forward to many miles with this pack, which won't be a problem because the straps are great. The only thing I changed was the addition of some p-cord and spring lock to hold my trekking poles. It was a breeze add this to the micro daisy chain down the side. One thing to note is the Copper isn't nearly as bright as it appears in the picture above.

Great Classic

Vasque Sundowner GTX Backpacking Boot - Men's

Vasque Sundowner GTX Backpacking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 8, 2011

I originally I purchased a pair of Mtn Lights and they just didn't fit to suit me. I like the classic look of these and after a friend recommended them I thought I would give them a try. After a couple of day hikes, a strenuous caving trip, and lots of rainy day wear I can see why my friend and his wife only wear Sundowners. The break in was nonexistent and even after the caving trip it only took a little clean up and some polish to get them looking presentable enough for work on rainy days.

Arc'teryx Axios Backpack 50 - Men's - 3051-3661cu in

April 25, 2011

I would really like to know the weight and volume (cubic inches please) of the pack without the removable lid. I'd like to use this as my primary pack for light overnighters with room to spare and for more gear intensive trips when necessary. Do you think it would serve my purpose well? I usually carry around 30-35lbs with water on a heavy day.

Patagonia Footwear Boaris Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 29, 2011

Great shoe...

Patagonia Footwear Boaris Shoe - Men's

Patagonia Footwear Boaris Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 25, 2011

I don't know about hunting boar, but I do know these shoes are great all around. I've worn them working on the ropes course, running around town, driving on long trips, and on some light hikes. They excel at everything. The only con is that once they get wet the leather stays damp for awhile. Other than that everything is great. Fit, comfort, support, aesthetic, and anything else is spot on.

Side note...some say the tread was designed so stuff wouldn't stick to it. It's not totally mud proof but it definitely doesn't pick up as much as some of my other shoes.
