Bio:
I just love being outside. There is nothing better than getting away from the craziness and noise of the real world for a couple days in the backcountry. I think Muir said it best with,
"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves."

Katadyn Hiker Water Microfilter

Just make sure when you do that you flush it out a couple of times as the first couple of bottles have some black color in them sometime from the charcoal filter..

I bought an XL and it has good room and length in the arms. I am 6'4" 195 lbs. I think you will want the XL if you are going to wear this in cold weather.

Therm-a-Rest Z Lite Sleeping Pad
May 10, 2011
I actually just put mine back into the plastic cover that it was shipped to me in, I have used this for 4 years and it keeps the bag tight and together so it doesn't spread out when I am trying to put it on my pack. If I didn't have this, I would just get some bungees to keep it together and maybe put it in a plastic bag.

I have used the Z-lite for years and I love it. It is dependable, cheap, and I always sleep well on it. You will enjoy it.

Big Agnes Cross Mountain 45 Sleeping Bag: 45 Degree Synthetic

Chris,
If you are looking for a good sleeping pad, I really feel like a thermarest made of foam is a great option. I have tried a lot of the pads that inflate, but I find the air makes me cold if the termperature really drops, and I wake up a lot of nights with my knees or shoulders on the ground and hurting (I am a side sleeper). The foam keeps it's consistency, and I don't have to wait for it to setup or worry about puncturing it. I love it! Have had great luck using it for the last 5 years.

The North Face Fontaine Jacket - Women's
March 1, 2011
I just bought this coat for my wife, she is 5'9" and 135 lbs. She has a big torso. The Medium fit her great, and she can fit a down jacket underneath it for layering if needed. If you want the jacket to come down a little below your waist and you have normal/long arms, I would go with the medium.
