  • Stomping Grounds:

41 to 44 degrees north latitude.
  • Bio:

All-weather golf. I'm amazed how much outdoor gear meant for climbing, biking and all-around packing is also wonderfully suited to the regular soaking and freezing conditions of all weather golf. Slogging down the high and windy fairway in December, pulling your cart over snow patches, setting up a hybrid rescue shot while standing in frozen mud, taxing your jacket's freedom of movement, fleecing your numbing fingers, keeping the north wind from howling down your neck. The focus is on shot making and staying alive, not necessarily in that order.

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 30, 2009

Listen, this jacket has magic woven in. There's no rational explanation for how a sleek lightweight garment like this can slide on over a tee-shirt and totally banish any notion of cold or chill. But that's just what this black beauty does for me in the dead of winter. To enhance this atmosphere of unreality, I'll toy with pulling the underarm zips while others are huffing in their puffers, then I'll drop my arm on a tabletop to brandish the superior tech bona-fides scribed across the right wrist--Windstopper.

The North Face Cable Fish Beanie

The North Face Cable Fish Beanie

Rating for this product: 4 December 29, 2008

Given that for many heads there are only good beanies, not great beanies, because they don't stay down over your ears. This item is one such--a good beanie. The cable stitch is a stylish touch.
