Great bag with a few drawbacks

The North Face Shifty Shoulder Bag - 1350cu in

The North Face Shifty Shoulder Bag - 1350cu in

Rating for this product: 3 November 3, 2008

First of all the pros... the material is very durable, like most North Face products. The large compartment has a divider to keep your laptop separate from everything else. It will fit a ton of stuff in there. There are two smaller pockets in the front that are perfect for students. Comfortable shoulder strap even though I carry 4 text books and my laptop. Now the cons... the waist belt is a good idea but it is a very small strap and if you don't want to use it there isn't really any place to put it, it will just dangle there. There isn't any padding in the laptop compartment, I bought an extra laptop case just to make sure it didn't get banged around too much. I think the bag would be much better if there were handles in addition to the shoulder strap. Overall the bag is great for students but there is a lot of room for improvement.

Best sock for the price

Backcountry.com Merino Trail Sock - 3 Pair

Backcountry.com Merino Trail Sock - 3 Pair

Rating for this product: 5 November 3, 2008

These are great Merino socks. These socks turned me on to the wonders of having a nice pair of socks. Before I just wore 100% cotton. Now all I wear is Merino Wool socks. There are other socks that I like a bit more than these although I would not buy them again because they are too expensive. I would buy these again in a heartbeat without hesitation. I can wear these for a couple days in a row and they don't stretch or get that funky smell that cotton socks normally get.

Durable and comfortable

Kavu Chilliwack Pant - Men's

Kavu Chilliwack Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 November 3, 2008

These pants are really comfortable. Thick material and is perfect for doing some good ol' fashion manual labor in. I agree that they are a bit baggy. I usually wear a 33" waist so I got a medium and the pants would be falling off me if it wasn't for the belt.

Accelerade Endurox R4 Recovery Drink

Accelerade Endurox R4 Recovery Drink

Rating for this product: 5 October 10, 2008

I'm a big fan. I used the Endurox recovery drink with accelerade (fruit punch flavor) for the Northwest Passage Ragnar Relay (189 miles) and drinking one of these after each leg of my race helped a ton.

a bang worth the buck

Accelerade Sports Drink - 60 Serving Canister

Accelerade Sports Drink - 60 Serving Canister

Rating for this product: 5 October 10, 2008

This has been my go to energy/recovery drink for my long workouts. Even though it seems expensive it is a better bargain than gatorade, powerade, or any other mainstream sport drink. Dollar for dollar you are getting a much better bargain with accelerade, its better for you with the 4:1 carbs to protein blend, and it tastes pretty good too.
