Fair enough.

I found the graceful curve on the backside did not engage as solidly as more agressive angles on hexes such as the Black Diamond Wired hex set; especially on jagged cracks.

Still a great set for setting up TR for youth at work.

Why settle for less?

MSR WhisperLite International Multi-Fuel Stove

MSR WhisperLite International Multi-Fuel Stove

Rating for this product: 2 August 30, 2008

A decent stove, but in my opinion is a less reliable, slower to boil, fuel guzzeling, albeit quieter companion to the Dragonfly.

If might be out on trial for more than a night or two, cook on uneven terrain, have to melt/purify water on your stove for drinking, or cant live with a breakdown in the field. Get the dragonfly. If not, feel free to use the whisperlight, but you probably don't need the international.

Best stove on the market, hands down.

MSR DragonFly Stove

MSR DragonFly Stove

Rating for this product: 5 August 30, 2008

Reliable from the desert heat to the Arctic cold; in the wind, snow, and rain. Lights up after being dunked in water, melts snow and boils water like a flamethrower, less likely to remove eyebrows when under your vestibule. Forget about saving a few bucks and a few ounces and get the stove that fires up right the first time, every time.

Inferior to the Sweetwater.

MSR MiniWorks Ex Ceramic Water Filter DO NOT USE

MSR MiniWorks Ex Ceramic Water Filter DO NOT USE

Rating for this product: 2 August 30, 2008

The pump stroke is too short, requiring more work for less drinkable water. The handle does not pack down well and I've seen the break off in the field. The O-rings are prone to leaking. They are a pain to clean.

Do yourself a favor and get the sweetwater.

MSR SweetWater Microfilter

I picked up one of these before MSR bought the company out. Pumps faster and more reliably than any other micro filter I've used. What more do you want?

Those cracks are normal and will widen with time/use. Your filter needs to be replaced when you can see the mesh underneath the ceramic in the core of the filter.
