Burton Ak 2L Cyclic Jacket - Men's

February 3, 2009

It doesn't have a logo on the back it has a really small [AK] logo on the side and it says GORE TEX on the right sleeve but it is other wise nice and crispy clean. It isn't thug long, but it doesn't fit like a belly shirt either. I would say mid thigh is right about where it hits.********Tab, Matt's right on with the description of the jacket. It also has another small Burton AK logo on the bottom right side of the jacket, around 2x2.5 inches. I just got a medium and it fits me perfectly at 6'2", 170 lbs with a 40" chest, 32" waist and 35" sleeves. I originally got a large because of the sleeve length and that came down to mid thigh but then I tried on the medium and the sleeves still fit me and it was more tailored to my chest and waist and sits upper thigh instead of mid. It's Burtons Sig Fit which is not slim but not extremely baggy either. Hope this helps.

Burton System Jacket - Men's

January 7, 2009

yeah, they got the wrong pic coming up when you choose the air twill color. I had them check it out. the Air Twill Plaid/White is red, not blue. If you want the blue plaid color, thats the Burlap Will Plaid/Mocha. You can check it out on Burtons site also. Hey, we're all human, including the photoshop guys, right?

Best bang for buck for sport climbing in Utah

Beal Edlinger II 10.2mm Rope DO NOT USE

Beal Edlinger II 10.2mm Rope DO NOT USE

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2008

perfect rope for sport climbing. I bought this early Summer '08 and am loving it. its a 10.2 but feels like 9.8. I opted for the Dry version since it makes sense add some DWR protection on a rope, why not? keeps the dirt and grime out better and resists wear and tear more.
The rope slides smoothly thru my belay devices. The gri gri didnt work too well, tho, cause it was thinner than what it works well with.
You can also go online and register your rope for reminders on care, maintenance, and expiration dates sent to your email! sweet.

Mountain Hardwear Phantom Down Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Phantom Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2008

Just got this jacket and I'm lovin' it. I'm 6'1", 175 lbs w/ 35" sleeves and 32" waist. I agree with other reviewer's who say the body length is shorter than average but here's the cool part. You can get the large and still not have to worry about a big fit in the waist if you have an athletic cut. The jacket has not 1, but 2 nylon cord cinches around the waist. There's one on the very bottom of the jacket that cinches all the way around and another one inside the jacket and about 6" up that cinches around the back and sides, which basically can give you a "tailored" look! Effin A!
It also has velcro wrists and another zippered inside pocket on the right that's big enough for wallet, keys, and a cell. It's super lightweight, 800-down warm, and comes with a stuff sack. If you're looking for an alternative to the Nuptse, this is it! Just don't go climbing or riding in it.

Salomon Snowtrip II Jacket - Men's

November 19, 2008

--------------------------G, I've owned this jacket for the past 3 years. It's my go to jacket for snowboarding and around town. It'll keep you dry in a blizzard. The ClimaPro is awesome. Probably would not recommend it for raingear, but I was on my butt for most of last season when I first started to snowboard. Never got cold or wet. I have longer arms too 35" and the large jacket fits me fine. Also, I can't tell you how many times the liner fleece has come in handy when your significant other forgets to dress for the occasion. My only gripe is that the snap-ins for the inside fleec on the sleeves are weak...they're just buttons sewn to the outer jacket on a slim piece of cloth so the cloth tears if you forget to unbutton your inner fleece before you remove it. nothing to do w/ performance. Too big of a jacket to throw a raincoat over, imo.*I completely deleted Spencer's contribution. I'm sorry, Spence!

Smith 2008 Variant Helmet

Smith 2008 Variant Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 November 13, 2008

Got a shrunken head? then this is the helmet for you! I have a hard time finding helmets, hats, and even beanies that look good on me. My face is kind of long oval-shaped and I have a small head circumference, about 53 cm. The HFS system solved that dilemma right away. Tried on my size, adjusted the HFS in the back and my head finally knew what it was like to cuddle. I loved it. Extremely lightweight, comfortable padding, cool looking, and they fit perfectly with my POC lobe goggles! A little more expensive than most, but worth it. get last years model on sale if you can.
