best boots for the $$$

The North Face Chilkats Boot - Men's

The North Face Chilkats Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 15, 2010

Got the mud pack/orange color. Super warm & cozy!!! I wore my low-cut thin socks because the boots are so warm (weather was 20-30's. Seem very durrable & look like they will last. Not a boot than you want to hike more than 10 miles in, but PERFECT for around town, light hikes, & CAMPING. Very dry & amazingly grippy on ice. For under 100 bucks i've yet to see any other boots that can compare. I wear a 12 running shoe & a 13 fits.

MH Windstopper is a SICK jacket!!!

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 4, 2010

i beleive this is the greatest fleece jacket i've ever sported. the hype is real. i just got it from BC after returning a TNF Denali. This jacket is so sick. MH Windstopper is as close to a universal year round jacket as possible. First i wore it over a long sleeve t-shirt and was skiing in 30 deg weather, i was NEVER cold, actually had to unzip the pits. When it was lower than 25 deg, i had to put on a rain/snow shell (after all, i am a FL boy). Then i wore it on a flats boat, fishing in the low 60's (going 50mph, windstopper is REAL), in board shorts & flippyfloppies, NEVER cold. Then yesterday i wore it over a tee shirt all day tailgaiting & boozing it up at the miami dolphins game in the high 50's . Oh yea, i never want to take it off inside either! Some how its still comfortable indoors in the 70's!!! What i'm getting at is how freakin versitile this animal is, from FL to ME to CA & back. Also, it is so thin & light, if you do have to take it off, it packs almost like a long sleeve tee.
It also seems to be of top quality construction, so it will last.
And lastly, i've read the comments about the pockets...they ARE in a higher position than other jackets, however i have only found them to be even MORE convenient with everything from fishing w/ a pack on to getting out your stash w/o taking off your seat belt!!!

good jacket for chillin, not thrillin

The North Face Classic Denali Fleece Jacket - Men's

The North Face Classic Denali Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 21, 2009

Definitely a very good quality jacket. but...its pretty bulky, and has near ZERO wind resistance. Just not what I was looking for. It would be perfect for safety meetings and chillin around the campfire. If you are looking for a more active, technical jacket, i'm going to sound repetitive, but MH Windstopper Fleece. I just retured the Denali for it. I still give it 4 stars, because if you are looking for a relaxing, snuggly jacket, it fits the bill & will last.

The North Face Pharak Fleece Jacket - Men's

The North Face Pharak Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 17, 2009

good quality materials. athletic fit, so it would be good for layering. i'm 6'3" 235, the xl was a little snug,so i had to return. very soft & flexable. would have liked a draw string at bottom. if u are looking for a fleece to be active in, this is a great value under 100 bucks.
