  • Stomping Grounds:

    Wasatch and Uinta mountains, Utah
  • Bio:

I was born and raised in Montana. I grew up skiing, hiking, biking, and snowmobiling. I moved to Utah in 99' to ski and go to school. I moved to AK for a season where I got certified to be a heli-ski guide in Haines (level 2 avalanche certification and my wafa medical certification) After a short time living in Spain I moved back and married my wife. We now have a son and still love to ski, hike, bike and snowmobile with the little one!

The 130 brake on the Marker Jester will work on these, I have the 130 Marker Duke on my Jah Love and they fit fine.

Salomon STH 16 Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 5 January 14, 2010

I have mount these babies on any ski in which I will be tucking it and hucking it. They are super burly and I trust my life with them. Currently I have them mounted on my Jah Loves. Nothing but the best. Steel Toe and Heel!

Rating for this product: 5 January 14, 2010

These are by far the best tele-binding I have used. Super burly and with the ability to tweak to the skiers liking. I have these currently mounted on the Atomic Thugs and they are more then enough binding to rip that ski. I have the extra stiff spring on mine as well which I love!

Hestra Ski Cross Glove

Hestra Ski Cross Glove

Rating for this product: 4 January 14, 2010

I love these gloves! I have used them while ski patrolling here in Utah and they did great. There was only one time that they got wet and that was when I was handling ropes while pulling toboggans all day. They keep my hands warm and they make it easy to handle small items without having take them off; a great range of motion.

This is a great jacket. I don't have to wear much for my mid-layer because this keeps me warm. I'm a chronically cold individual and this has been a life saver. My husband got this for me for Christmas and I only wish I had it sooner!

New Balance 840 Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 13, 2010

Great trail shoe! I used these for anything from trail running in the Wasatch to hiking with my wife. They fit well, super lightweight, have a nice aggressive tread, and have held up well so far. The sizing was right on. The only down side I can see is the tread does not do well if there is any water or wet rocks (super slippery). Other then that they are a great shoe.

Rating for this product: 5 January 13, 2010

Nobody makes better gloves then Hestra! These are my forth pair (not because I needed new ones either). I also have the Vertical Cut Freeride, which are by far my favorite glove. All my Hestras have anywhere from 100-130 days skiing on them and they only get better with time. I use the Leather Shape model for cold weather motorcycle rides and snowmobiling in anywhere from 0-20 degrees. Make sure and check the sizing chart as they are sized in numbers.

This is awesome! My kid looks so baller in this jacket. Holding all style aside this little down sweater is super warm and fits really well! To bad kids grow so fast, looks like we will be getting more of this jacket in bigger sizes for the future.

Voile Drifter Hybrid Rocker Ski

Voile Drifter Hybrid Rocker Ski

Voile Drifter Hybrid Rocker Ski

Rating for this product: 5 January 13, 2010

I mounted these up for my wife for Christmas this year. She patrols up at Park City Mountain Resort in Park City, Utah. They are super light for the size of the ski and tour really well. But they really shin in the steep and deep! They turn without effort and float and cut crud really well. On the hard pack and groomed runs (even pulling a toboggan) they hold edge well for the size of the ski, they do have a bit of normal camber under foot for harder snow. They are a sick light weight touring powder ski for those really deep days in the back country or even a good side country ski for the resorts.

Marker Baron 12 Ski Binding

Marker Baron 12 Ski Binding

Marker Baron 12 Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 4 January 13, 2010

I mounted these on my wife's Vole Drifter, they are good option for someone looking for a lower DIN solid binding with some touring capabilities. They are not the lightest and getting them into the tour mode sucks but you cannot find a more burly binding for side country tours. My wife loves them! I have the Dukes (the 16 DIN version) on most of my bigger skis.

Rating for this product: 5 January 13, 2010

These are super solid skins, I have used these on all my fat skis (K2 Hellbents, Atomic Thugs, Vole Drifter) They are built well, easy to trim to the ski, stay relatively sticky in cold temps, and glide well.

Continental Petrol Pro 2.5 Foldable Mountain Bike Tire

Rating for this product: 4 January 13, 2010

Good cheaper option for your freeride, all mountain bike. Used these on my Specialized Enduro which I use mainly for all mountain riding and from time to time light freeride. This tire does not do well in wet conditions, not that we ever see that here in Utah.

Solid option for carrying your road bikes in the bed of your truck. I have used them for lighter xc bikes as well and they seem to be pretty solid with those as well.

They do what they are supposed to, they are not the prettiest thing to add to your rack but they do work. I used them for my Thule bike racks.
