The only bra I'll bother to wear around the house

Isis C/D Bra - Women's

Isis C/D Bra - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 13, 2011

I can understand why this might not be the bra for some people. It's not the most attractive bra in history; the neckline comes super high up (like, almost to the clavicles), and there's not a lot of lining in the front for nipple control. And as the previous reviewer noted, it's not a high impact bra, not even for a C cup like me.

But when you'd prefer to go braless on the weekends, but you're just large enough to make that uncomfortable? This bra is PERFECT. It is soft, supportive, comfortable, and breathable. It gives enough support to keep me comfortable, but still lets me have a little shape under a tee. M fits me perfectly (36C). Washes well, since there aren't any wires to get bent out of shape--I feel like it might shrink if I put it through the dryer, so I hang dry. No problems so far.

So, bottom line? No, it's not a sports bra, and no, it's not my sexiest date night bra. But if you don't have those intentions for it, I think you'll be very satisfied.

Not my fave

prAna Mahdia Leyla Tank Top - Women's

prAna Mahdia Leyla Tank Top - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 February 12, 2011

This top is cute, but in my opinion, prAna makes tops that are much more functional (and flattering). I am a 36C, and this top squashed me down into a major pancake boob look. Normally, I'd be okay with that if the top were functional, but unfortunately, it is not supportive enough for even a yin meditative class, much less a more vigorous practice. It's also super snug in the waist/body; I usually wear size 4-6 or small in prAna, and this shows every lump and bump even in size M.

If you're a B cup or under and maybe a little less muscular up top, this may be a a better choice for you. But if you've got Cs or more muscle mass, I'd recommend the Quinn or the Kaley tunic instead.

Great Tech Top

prAna Aria Tech T-Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

prAna Aria Tech T-Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 12, 2011

I usually wear this for hot yoga. It's a stretchy fabric that fits well (I'm usually a size 4-6, and the small is like spandex, which is exactly what I wanted. If you want a looser fit, size up). It also moves well, and at the end of class, washes well. Great color (I have the teal), and the graphic print down the arms adds a fun, pretty touch.

Personally, I could do without the thumbholes, since my primary use for this top is yoga. But they're well-constructed thumbholes, if that makes sense--well-seamed and the sleeves are plenty long, so you won't have that problem you sometimes get where the thumbholes dig into the webbing between your thumb and hand.

Overall, I'd recommend this top for anyone looking for a fitted technical tee that works on its own or will layer nicely beneath a heavier top.

I Love This Hoodie So Much I Could Die

Horny Toad Marla Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Horny Toad Marla Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 20, 2010

The title says it all. I have to force myself to wear other things. It is so buttery soft, and I feel like the fabric actually gets more comfortable as it warms up to body temperature. Just thinking about it makes me want to go put it on this very second.

I am 5'3", 135lbs, size 6 pant and broad-shouldered. Medium fits just a tad loose; fit is casual but not boxy. Washes well. Love the button detail at the sleeves.

I do have one issue with this hoodie. I've experienced this with lots of the samba fabric items I own from Horny Toad, and that's that little pinholes develop seemingly spontaneously and easily. After wearing twice, I had two in the hood. Now, don't get me wrong, the holes are teeny-tiny and (so far) they remain teeny-tiny. But it is a little frustrating.

That said, I have this hoodie in red and I just bought it in blue. Might buy the gray, too. Love, love, love, love.

Skepticism=Gone.

CW-X Pro Tight - Women's

CW-X Pro Tight - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 17, 2008

Gotta be honest--I had read a lot of great things about the CR-X, but I was way skeptical. But the sale price was only a bit more than what a pair of Under Armour winter tights might cost, so I thought, what the heck. I ran in them once, and all my skepticism vanished after the first mile. This is a really impressive piece of technical running equipment. I do a lot of hill running, and I could feel the difference the added support in the calves made uphill and in the quads downhill. Even on a flat road, my legs felt light, lean, and well-supported. After one run, they were my favorite tights. One small caveat: the crotch is a tiny bit long, and I usually have to stop every 5 miles or so to readjust and make sure everything is in the right place. But overall, this is a really exceptional piece of running gear and I would highly recommend it, especially for long-distance runners.
