excellent pullover

Backcountry.com Rime Pullover Jacket - Men's

Backcountry.com Rime Pullover Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 20, 2009

This is a great pullover, very wind resistant and warm for its weight. Nice casual pullover for spring/fall I've gotten lots of compliments. Also great technical piece, I use it mostly for winter hiking but it goes in my pack for just about any outing in all 4 seasons. If your going to be active wear a thin long sleeve base layer underneath b/c it doesn't wick very well nts. I am 220 6ft, wear an XL, and there is enough room for a thick icebreaker underneath. I've also had it for about a year and it is still holding up great.

fantastic jacket

Backcountry.com Siphon Primaloft Hooded Jacket - Men's

Backcountry.com Siphon Primaloft Hooded Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 20, 2009

Got this back in november and have worn it daily. I get a ton of compliments from normal pple to gear heads at least weekly. Quite wind resistant and warm, I can wear just a t-shirt and be good down to 20 degrees. I also bring it winter hiking as a back up in case i get cold. It layers over and under stuff great. I am 220 6ft and a large fits snug but enough room for a baselayer and my rime pullover underneath. It definately lacks a few technical features (like wider forearms and wrist closures), but it is a great cross between technical and casual and looks great to boot.

great jacket

Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Alpha LT Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 20, 2009

Arguably the best combination of waterproof/breathable/durable/lightweight/technical/stylish. It is almost as light as paclite yet more durable and breathable. All the technical features are perfect. I use it mostly for winter hiking but i think it would work for just about any condition that warrants a hardshell. I used it a few weeks ago for a few high peaks where we where on a ridgeline for about 6miles. Heavy wind, blowing snow, and thick spruce trees didn't touch me and i dried out quickly after each ascent witout losing any warmth. I am 220 6ft and large fits great with just about any combinations of layers underneath.

Osprey Packs Stratos 24 Backpack - 1300-1700cu in

I use this thing for everything and everyone I go with gets gear envy. The design and features are flawless. Mesh panel works great in summer and winter. This thing works great for snowshoe treks b/c the straight jacket straps hold snowshoes better than any other pack I've seen. I can barely squeeze everything in for a winter hike but i plan on buying the stratos 40 when i get the money. It is so comfy even when fully loaded so I never take it off if i can help it. In the summer you can easily load it with 2 water bottles and 2 camelbak bladders if need be. The suspension ayatem seems delicate but i haven't had a problem with it yet.
