La Sportiva Barracuda Climbing Shoe

May 7, 2008

I have 5.10 Verde in 42 Euro and they are tight. These are 40.5 Euro and they are comfortable! So at least 1.5 sizes Euro depending on what kind of climbing you plan to do in them.

Superb Shoe

La Sportiva Barracuda Climbing Shoe

La Sportiva Barracuda Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 5 May 7, 2008

Other than the wacky sizing-- at least a full (and then some) US-size small as opposed to what I'm used to, these are an awesome shoe for both indoor gym routes and outdoor sport and trad climbs. High performance, light, and comfortable. I haven't got to try it on outdoor cracks yet (these will get a workout on the Bonhomme Variation route on Devil's Tower this summer!), but the midsole is plenty stiff and the shoe has sufficient topside protection for the foot on jams.

Metolius Sketch Crash Pad

Metolius Sketch Crash Pad

Rating for this product: 3 May 7, 2008

Cheap pad, covers only a fairly small area-- pretty thin. Adequate for short falls I think!? I use it for my hangboard/home wall; have been fortunate enough not to take a winger onto it yet. Wouldn't trust it for a longer fall say while bouldering outdoors.
