Marmot Trestles 0 Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Spirafil

March 16, 2010

When I buy bags I always buy the same kind with opposite side zippers. I am a family man and so my wife and or one of my children and I can cozy up on cold nights. I bought two of these bags one RZ and the other LZ - they zip together no problem. They are a bit heavy for backpacking and I admit that I am looking for lighter bags more suitable for summer weather when I get a chance - however I am still glad I bought this bag and would do so again. Plus BC's return policy is lifetime. LIFETIME.

Too Legit 2 Quit

Marmot Trestles 0 Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Spirafil

Marmot Trestles 0 Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Spirafil

Rating for this product: 5 April 15, 2008

I have taken this bag out twice, once in my backyard when temperatures dipped in the low 30's and once up in the mountains. The first time I slept out under the stars and loved the fact that I slept like a baby. no chills or cold spots. The second time I slept in a Trango 2 with my two year old son and we zipped both our trestles (L and R zip) together and were very warm the entire night. Are there better sleeping bags out there? Sure. But for the money at approximately one sixth or fifth the cost of other high tech sleeping bags the trestle is legit. I have not taken it out in super cold weather, (below 20 degrees) and I wonder how it will perform, but at around 30 degrees it is awesome. Bottom line, the trestle packs small, is lightweight and toasty, toasty warm. I am happy with my purchase and am so glad I bought it from this site. I will definitely buy from these guys again.

Hot hot hot - but roomy

Mountain Hardwear Trango 2 Tent 2-Person 4-Season

Mountain Hardwear Trango 2 Tent 2-Person 4-Season

Rating for this product: 5 April 2, 2008

Just bought this baby, it seems like a good little tent, I have not as of yet broke it in, but I did set it up in my living room and was sweating away in 5 minutes...this tent is extremely warm, easy to set up and take down it is just a little hard to tell which way is the front and which is the back, but I am sure that will come with practice. Me, my wife, and two little kids all fit in comfortably and are going to take it up AF canyon ASAP before the snow melts!!! - Keep it real homies

UPDATE:

I have since had plenty of experience with this tent. Sub-zero camping, mountain snow falls, and high velocity winds. This tent has held up like a champ. When I bought this tent I was thinking that it would be a little too much for me and if I could I could re-sell it and get back most of my money. Well I would not part with this tent for the life of me. It is fairly easy to set (after some practice) and the vestibules are roomy and a god send. The poles are a bit flimsy and bend to take the form of the tent - which could be a pro or a con and it a bit heavy for one person to carry - so bear that in mind. I have packed it in once and that was a task!

Over all my rating still stands - I love this tent!
