Mountain Hardwear Masherbrum Mitten

Mountain Hardwear Masherbrum Mitten

Rating for this product: 5 January 14, 2010

I live in the Northwest Arctic of Alaska. I have been walking around and doing things outside at nearly -40. They have worked very well so far. Lots of insulation. This mitten is a million times better than the absolute zero mitten. The dexterity is pretty good too. The shell is kind of flemsy but will still work. I am wondering how the leather palm is going to hold up in semi wet conditions. If it keeps my hands warm up here they will definitly do the job for anyone.

Defective x 2

Outdoor Research Cornice Mitten

Outdoor Research Cornice Mitten

Rating for this product: 1 December 7, 2009

These were my first "hard core" mittens. i bought them two years ago and returned them two years ago. Backcountry sent me a replacement which was also defective. Do not buy these mittens they have terrible dextarity and warmth. Not taped seams. Don't buy spend a little more and get a better mitten. Back country did rectify the situation so they get a big thumbs up, the product however, big thumbs down.

Pretty Junky

Mountain Hardwear Absolute Zero Mitten

Mountain Hardwear Absolute Zero Mitten

Rating for this product: 1 December 7, 2009

I live in the Alaska Arctic. I used these one day ice fishing at -20. My hands were fairly warm. I also had to snow machine in them. THey held up pretty good. I didn't feel any wind getting through the mitt. The top part of the mitten has the more insulation so i have no complaints about that. I know they use less insulation in the palm for dextarity but i wish it had more insulation. Also, near the thumb the insulation had moved around so there is not insulation in a spot about the size of a quarter. Now here is my one and biggest complaint. At the very tip of the mitten, where the two different insulations meet. There is a sown crease there right at my finger tips. There is no insulation there. My finger tips got very very cold. For that reason if you are gonna be in temperatures -10 or colder you may want to look else where. If you are from midwest or something and it may only get to 0 degrees these things will keep your hands nice and toasty. I'm thinking to send em back and get the masherbrum ones that i hear are warmer!

Update 12/11- Had these glove for two weeks and they are falling apart. At the end of the gauntlet the seems are not taped or sewn they are GLUED! they it is all falling apart how sad i thought they would be quality, don't get!

The liner is awesome! at the bottom i once gave these mittens a A+ boy was i wrong. the wool and leather work amazing. the shell however i have sent back twice now. once the threads started coming loose and now the palm grips are tearing off. this is with minimal use. i would not recommend. trust me, u will be disappointed

The North Face Padda Amphibious Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 November 23, 2009

the person i bought these for loves them. they are great for the beach or just casual wear. But for those of us hard core users, this shoe will fit the bill. it is super light weight and water runs out very well. not so sure about the holes on the bottom. i wish they werent there but they are a good shoe and has a strong sole.

This is a great mitten. I live in alaska and these suckers keep me warm in the winter. A+ mitten. The wool liners are extremely warm. The dexterity of the mitten is awesome, great for casual wear and for the more extreme sport activities! Buy it! u won't regret it
