Super warm

The North Face Nuptse Mitten

The North Face Nuptse Mitten

Rating for this product: 5 September 27, 2009

These are the first 'expensive'pair of mittens I have bought.Every year I felt I would buy a cheaper pair of mitts.I figured if they last a season,I would just replace.Well, every year,I had to replace my cheapo mitts. These I have now had for 2 years and they are going strong! I live in the Canadian prairies and the winters here can be brutal.I walk to work with these mitts in -30 to - 40 C weather(not counting windchill). My hands are ALWAYS warm!!!!! In my mind there are no better mitts around if they can keep my hands warm in that kind of weather.Do yourself a favour and forget about the cheap stuff. You will probably end up paying more replacing them every year or so.Go for the quality!

I bought these for work.Just got tired of always hunting round for utensils and also using plastic.Thought these would fit the bill. And they do!Work great in a variety of foods......hot and cold.Wash up quick and easy. The clip works great for keeping the utensils together and able to hook it to my mug.Best of all,no more plastic to the landfill.Get em!

Marmot Ion Windshirt - Men's

Marmot Ion Windshirt - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 14, 2008

Love wearing this on a cooler, windier day.Keeps the rain away and yet keeps me warm....specially on a bike.Light wearing and folds up real small.Kinda weird tho....I'm 5'11"/170#/chest 42"... the sleeves are more than long enough and the chest has the room.....however the length is kinda short. Not overly but it is short.Blue is the colour.......is darker than the pic!

Helly Hansen Packable Hybrid Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 9, 2008

Used these the other day when the rain was coming at me sideways. Worked gr8 on my bike. I'm 5'11" 170 # and the medium works for me. I wouldn't want to go smaller........the waist is a good size(room to move)but the length is jes' right.....any smaller and they would be too small. The water jes' beaded off. Recommend these??????? oh yeah!!!!!

love this pant

Helly Hansen Agenda Ski Pant - Men's

Helly Hansen Agenda Ski Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 5, 2008

I bought this pant after talking to a gear expert online. They work great! I bought a large....thought I would need some extra room for when I wore them over my reg pants. This size works very well for this purpose.I also have worn them for cross country skiing.I weigh bout 80 kgs,180 cms tall, and wear a 32-34 jean. These are fine over a pair of pants. However, the large are big for just a base layer and these over top.You would definitely have to wear a belt.I love the clasp at the bottom of the pant which hooks onto your ski boots or onto your laces on your regular hiking boots.Have worn them when we had a dump of snow.....kept me very warm(at -30C temps and about 5-10 cms of fresh snow). They also have the option of an inner thigh zipper for when it gets hot while skiing. All in all I can tell they are made very well, are a great quality, and will last me for years.

Loved this jacket so much,I bought another one for a gift.In my previous review, forgot to say I bought a large size.I have now had the cold weather to test it out.Was -25C the other night with a w/c of -33C.Wore it while walking to work(25 mins).I was very warm and hardly noticed the wind with the hood up.Awesome!

Great jacket

Marmot Mountain Down Jacket - Men's

Marmot Mountain Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 14, 2007

I have never bought a coat online before.I am very impressed with this jacket.I was looking for a down fill that would withstand really cold temps. Some friends at work told me of this site and this is where I found this coat.First of all,I ordered the stellar/tempest colour.I was not too sure about this colour. However,it is darker than the picture suggests. It is closer to a royal blue and the patches are very dark.I am 5'11" and it comes down far enough to cover my butt. This is what I was hoping for as I wanted to get something that would be more like a parka than a bomber style.I live in the Canadian prairies and it gets bitter cold here in the winter.I wanted a jacket that would do me in temps of -20C to -30C.It figures that when I received the coat,it was rather mild here. However,I did use it on a couple of nights when it was
-18C with a windchill of -25C.It worked great!!!! I was very warm and the hood kept me very warm as well. Also the hood comes forward a fair bit so that the wind was kept at bay!
I am so looking forward to a -25C day so I can really test it out.I also like the snap skirt on the inside. While it might have been nicer to have a couple of more pockets,it still has 4 which is more than adequate.I highly recommend this coat to anyone looking for a lightweight that really keeps the cold temps out!
