Line Prophet 90 Ski

October 6, 2009

These were the 07-08 model, virtually same ski. Not a forgiving flex when landing... but definitely a hard chargin ski.

The North Face Tadpole 23 Bx Tent: 2-Person 3-Season

August 22, 2009

I camped in this tent at 12,500 ft at the highland mary lakes of San Juan mountains in Colorado. It was windy, chilly, and gorgeous... Tent was awsome and easy to set up!

Impressive

Pearl Izumi isoSeek Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Pearl Izumi isoSeek Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 6, 2011

I've always ran Salomon's for trail running and this is this my first pair of Pearls. I have to say these have held there own and am impressed so far. Good traction, feel natural not akward, a nice snug wrap around feel. What I liked the best was the stability, especially the lateral. Ive gone around 100 trail/road miles in these so far and they still feel like they have a lot of life left. If your looking to try a new shoe I'd say go for these.

Polar FS3C Heart Rate Monitor Watch

March 31, 2010

This is a good entry level unit, though it does not come with a chest strap heart rate reciever.(I dont know if it needs one either) It shows you what you need to know without all the bells and whistles. The Polar RS100 heart rate monitor has both watch and strap.

Hand Heaven

Hestra Ski Cross Glove

Hestra Ski Cross Glove

Rating for this product: 4 December 23, 2009

I ordered the black color, its different than the picture, grey stitching rather than yellow & a metal hestra logo rather than a plastic one on the back of the hand.

Pros: Beautiful & durable construction. Form fitting, great dexterity, yet insulating and warm.

Cons: Well... none yet. they're holding up great with regular TLC.

A must have!

Nikwax Creme Waterproofing Wax for Leather

Nikwax Creme Waterproofing Wax for Leather

Rating for this product: 5 December 12, 2009

This stuff works great. No discoloration on light leathers. I use it on my white hestras. Use it about 3 times during the wet seasons, and once in the off season to keep them supple while in storage.

Very nice thin sock

Fox River Rocky Ski Sock

Fox River Rocky Ski Sock

Rating for this product: 4 October 9, 2009

Take your time looking for a good thin sock. These are great by the way. Warmer than they actually describe here, thats if you have the right sock/ski boot fit. If you can wear thick socks while skiing, then your boots are too big. A thin sock is key to getting a good fit. These socks are very nice!

Did they say these were fast?!...

Lange Comp Pro Ski Boot - Men's

Lange Comp Pro Ski Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 October 9, 2009

Very fast. There response can be alittle overwhelming if your form is slightly off. They definately will help with progressing your skiing ability. I went from a Nordica Speedmachine 12 to these Langes which surely charge harder than no other. They didnt have all the fancy stuff like the Nordica or a Technica, but lets be serious.... its a boot. If you want an aggressive, hard charging boot, no extra gadgets or frills, look no further.

Oh! and be prepared to get thrown off your ass if your not on top of your game.

Moment Bibby Pro Model Ski

October 5, 2009

In the near future I'm looking to get a backcountry(mainly sled access), powder set up. I came across Moment and found that they make some pretty good stuff. How forgiving is this ski? I ride line prophets and love them, they're just sometimes a lot of work in the pow. I also want to know what kind of binding anyone would recommend for this setup? I'm 5'10", 160lbs...

Thanks in advance!

Line Prophet 90 Ski

October 2, 2009

Nothing has changed. Same great ski. They now have added the prophet 90 flite, which is the same ski without the metal matrix making it a softer flex.

Line Prophet 90 Ski

October 2, 2009

These are very stiff. Go with the prophet flite if you like Line, it should be softer since it wont have the metal matrix. I'm not sure about the K2, but I'd imagine it is quite softer. I've seen park people use them so thats my only guess that they have a softer flex.

Scott. Great visibility, cheap construction...

Scott Witness Spherical Series Goggle

Scott Witness Spherical Series Goggle

Rating for this product: 3 October 2, 2009

I have the 08/09 model of these. I liked the spherical lens, wide view range that fills out a medium to large face. They match up well with a variety of helmets, thanks to their bigger frame filling up the gaps. I did find the construction to be kind of cheap though. The composite frame and strap loops reminded me of cheap toy plastic. They felt like they could break easily, though they havent.

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 30, 2009

These shoes are excellent. Comfortable, form fitting, and the lacing system is real nice giving you a snug & dialed in fit. The fabric lace loops are reinforced with plastic loops which help reduce wear and tear on the laces, unlike the XT Wings.

Clifbar Clif Bars - 12 Pack

Clifbar Clif Bars - 12 Pack

Rating for this product: 5 September 29, 2009

These bars provide all three macro nutrients; fats, proteins & carbs. It is all in balance & always moist, never crumbly like many other bars. You'll never bonk when you have these to replenish yourself.

XT Wings. meh...

Salomon XT Wings GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Salomon XT Wings GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 September 29, 2009

Their said to run narrow but I found these to be a lil wide. The toe piece is kinda over kill as well. The lace loops are weak. After two months of normal wear one of the lace loops and lace broke. I found the XA Pro 3D to have better loops.
Other than that, these are good trail shoes. The waterproofing worked great for the occasional wet weather & mud. They have a super grippy tread pattern. I run on a lot on decomposed granite in high elevation desert & dry forest areas, known to be looser traction.

Salomon XT Wings GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

September 29, 2009

I had the same problem. If your're interested, exchange them for the XA Pro 3D ultra. The fabric lace loops have little plastic reinforcers which help not put so much wear on them.

H/H Republic Jacket

Helly Hansen Republic Jacket - Men's

Helly Hansen Republic Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 September 29, 2009

This is an alround good snow jacket. Better for mild to moderate conditions. It is fairly basic with not many features but is comfortable, extremely waterproof, and the fur hood is warming. There is a powder skirt unlike what the discription states and the removable hood is nice for those days you don't need it. You can take off the fur trim as well if you don't like it.

Sessions Achilles Pant - Men's

Sessions Achilles Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 September 18, 2009

Pretty warm & comfortable pants. They are a slightly baggy fit but still very functional and fitting. They may not have the highest waterproof & breathing rating but I was impressed with their construction. You may not need as crazy of waterproofing/breathing ratings such as 20,000 if the consrtuction is very good.

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

August 22, 2009

I have high arches as well and absolutely love these shoes. I used to have the XT Wings, but they felt sloppy and seemed to be made for ppl with flatter feet. This shoe has a snug fit, ultimate trail stability, and has a more durable lacing system than other Salomon's because of its reinforced lace loops.
