Less than Epic

Mountain Hardwear Epic Pant - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Epic Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 October 2, 2009

I own the previous version of these before then had a belt or any venting but they are still made of the same fabric. These pants just are NOT WATERPROOF. They do provide a barrier to the weather and would be just fine for a jaunt in the rain but if you are counting on your pants to protect your from prolonged exposure to precip. these are not for you. Spend a few more bucks and i suspect you will get alot more pant!

The North Face Freedom Pant - Men's

October 1, 2009

The pull tabs on the waist are really quite secure and no one wants to have their movement limited by tight pants on the slope, go with the big ones.

Very Nice

The North Face Freedom Pant - Men's

The North Face Freedom Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 1, 2009

Since these are the uninsulated version i doubt they have the heatseeker eco like it says they do, however they do have a nice brushed poly lining. The outer material is very very durable and they block wind and snow fully. I've never had to use them on a rainy day so i can't attest to the waterproofness of them. They don't offer tons of warmth but the relaxed fit means you can layer all you want. When you're doing work and those legs start burnin these pants have the best ventilation system ever. Between the ankle vents (uncloseable), the side knee vents and the fly you can customize breathablilty. Great pant for the price. I am six feet tall and weigh 160 lbs. and the medium fits great(thanks to a little help from the waist pull tabs!)

Awesome pants

Mountain Hardwear Canyon Pant - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Canyon Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 30, 2009

The canyon cloth is great stuff. So light and comfy but still very durable. The integrated belt works great, and when it's hot as balls you can roll up the legs and they stay put thanks to the cinch up ankles. These pants are at home in the water, drain ports in the pockets and quick drying nylon mean that you dry off in a matter of minutes, not hours. I am six foot tall and weigh 160 and a medium fits me perfect.

Great Fleece

Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man Fleece Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 6, 2009

Very warm, very light and oh so soft. I've had mine two years now and it's held up pretty decent. It breathes better than any other fleece period, and when the weather gets real nasty put a shell on and you are invincible. This jacket will mat down on areas that are exposed to constant pressure. This is the best fleece for your money. This was my first piece of MH gear and they have yet to disappoint me.

Very Good, just not Great

Mountain Hardwear Android Softshell Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Android Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 6, 2009

This is my first softshell and i must say i do love my jacket. Its almost totally windproof and even in some steady rain it's yet to leak even at a seam! This is my go-to jacket for just about everything. While this jacket provides a good barrier from the weather, it provides very little insulation. A nice baselayer will make a world of difference. So why not five stars? Well my brother owns a MH alchemy and that thing is the greatest jacket ever. That thing may even get six stars.

Exactly what i wanted

Montrail Highlander Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Montrail Highlander Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 23, 2009

These are some killer off road sneaks. Ultra durable mesh uppers and a sole that will grip anything. They provide just the right amount of cushioning so that you don't feel all of those rocks and roots. These shoes provide such insane grip that i can now corner just at fast as my miniature schnauzer. With such an aggressive tread does come a price, these things hate pavement. Those lugs can make it look like it's your first time walking and they wear out kinda quick on hard stuff. Great shoes

Asolo Fugitive GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

Asolo Fugitive GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 23, 2009

These boots are a great all around boot. A little warm for hot weather hiking but still warm enough to wear for a few hours out in the snow. My main concern buying these boots was the lack of a vibram sole, as all other boots in this price range have them. The rubbermac won't disappoint you, in fact in might even grip better. Quality of build might be an issue, yea it's an Italian company but these puppies are made in Romania. I had an eyelet rip right out on the first pair i was sent but backcountry had another pair on the way before i even had sent the originals back. Absolutely awesome customer support! I have had my boots over a year and a half now and i am still loving them.
