Burton Ruler Snowboard Boot - Men's

Burton Ruler Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 5, 2009

I got the Rulers before last season so I'm not sure if they were 07's or 08's. Either way I don't think they are that much different. I personnaly have had no issues with them. I generally ride once a week during the season in NH so they have seen some action. Every once and a while towards the end of the day I will notice that they have become a little loose, which can be expected cause I like to carve alot. I don't find this to be a problem because for one, I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't actually look at my boot, and two, the lacing system lets me tighten up in less than two secs. As far as quality goes with Burton, I haven't had an issue. I like my boots painfully tight and really crank on the laces and they haven't torn yet. Always been comfortable, warm, and dry.

Burton Mission Snowboard Binding

Burton Mission Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 4 March 5, 2009

My Missions are 07's or 08's. These were my 1st pair of Burtons and 2nd overall pair of bindings. The capstrap helped me progress so much. Don't know why any one would prefer over the toes, guess that's just what they're used to. The cap strap not only makes it feel like I have more control but it helps pull my boot back into the binding so it's nice and tucked in. I would say the ankle padding is about medium. They have always felt comfortable to me until I started riding with some serious lean on the highback. I think I just need to adjust the strap angle though. I have to agree with what "badkelly" wrote about the ratchet skipping at the end of the ladder. This happens every time now. I like my bindings super snug so I try to ratchet down as far as possible which could have caused this. The bindings still get tight but it just takes a little more effort, haven't looked into fixing it because I guess technically they are not broke. Like the other review said, it just lets me know that I am ratcheted to the max. The straps are easy to adjust too. There are several position lengths to fit what ever boot you ride with. It will require a phillips screwdriver.

The Bullet

Burton Deluxe Starter Kit - 09/10

Burton Deluxe Starter Kit - 09/10

Rating for this product: 5 March 5, 2009

I can only comment on the bullet, I don't have all the other junk, except for an identical lock from Dakine. The bullet is a must. So compact. It's great to have so you don't have to wait for some other boarder to finnish using the rusted screwdriver at the mountain, which is too small any way and will strip the screws on your bindings. This comes with 2 sizes of phillips head, flat head and hexagon srewdrivers (?), allen wrench, and position switch to tighten, loosen, or keep neutral while you use it. To be honest, I don't think I would spend $40 on all this stuff. I picked up the bullet for $5, and the lock for like $10. I don't really use the other stuff. Stomp pad, leash (?!)

Columbia Surreal Pant - Women's

December 19, 2008

According to the tech specs these pants don't have gaiters. I found these same pants on another site and it said they did have gaiters. Is that a typo on your tech specs?

Good carry-on or weekend trip

DAKINE Overhead Rolling Bag - 2500cu in.

DAKINE Overhead Rolling Bag - 2500cu in.

Rating for this product: 4 December 9, 2008

At first glance I thought I made a mistake purchasing this bag. It looks smaller than it is. I went to NY for a weekend and packed a decent amount of clothes and also put my shoes in the seperate front pocket which is a plus for me cuz I've been told I have some stinky feet. Overall I like the design and style. Looks cooler than a standard all black suite case and you can also spot it easier. I found it really easy to get around with because there are handles on the top, side, and the extendable handle if you want to roll it behind you. The handle extends pretty far out even in the shortest adjustable setting, so I wound up using the side handles to carry it through the crowded NYC subway.

Good quality for a good price

Fox River Wick Dry Big Air Sock

Fox River Wick Dry Big Air Sock

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2008

Just wore these puppies boarding up in Maine. They were supper comfy! The only advice I could give if your buying these is that their medium padding is more like other brands thickest padding. I usually wear medium and these felt alot thicker but I didn't have any issues once I was in my boots. I would say these are the best sock for the price. I'll have to see how they hold up over the season, but so far they look and feel like good quality!
