Nice outer shell, form, fit and function A-OK. It's the real deal without unwanted features and benefits. Simple, direct, to the point, good movement, good protection, comfortable.

Arc'teryx Palisade Pant - Men's

Arc'teryx Palisade Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 24, 2010

To some the price of this garment may seem like an example of diminishing returns. I purchased the first pair for a peakbagging trip to Colorado and specific off-trail, scrambling and boulder-hopping summit applications. They are extremely comfortable, so much so that I had another pair shipped overnight to my hotel. These are definitely an upscale product that will exceed many price points..... for me the comfort factor combined with utility and durability sealed the deal.

Arc'teryx Theta SV Bib - LS - RIP

Arc'teryx Theta SV Bib - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 31, 2010

Second season with the Theta SV Bibs. Finally a bib that has fit and function for me. Regretfully. the SV's are a casualty and were ripped to shreds in the ER. I can honestly report that after 40 minutes flat on my back in the snow awaiting rescue, no moisture, no cold spots, no major body temperature loss. The only problem is my size is out of stock nationwide. The moral of the story, without question I'll buy these again.

Super FFT (Fine Family Tent)

Black Diamond Guiding Light Tent 4-Person 4-Season

Black Diamond Guiding Light Tent 4-Person 4-Season

Rating for this product: 5 December 30, 2009

What I like most about it is dividing up the components, tent, poles, stakes and ground cover. The kids learn to carry team gear and I reduce my load year after year!

As for functionality, we have experienced heavy rain in the High Uintas, high winds in the Southern Snake Range and very warm temperatures in Canyonlands all without any misgivings on the decision to procure this tent.

BTW: The design is simple, therefore there are less variables resulting in less probabilty of a failure.

Columbia Silver Ridge II Plaid Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 23, 2009

These are great hiking shirts and work well on multi-day backpacking trips. They wick out moisture, are comfortable and durable.

This is my third purchase in this series of hiking shirts. It started with a plain white for canyon and desert hiking and tried it on a 100+ mile CDT section hike. Since then I have converted my three season clothing system for hiking, trekking and peak bagging to include these shirts.
