Salomon Czar Ski

So I pulled the trigger on the 182's. Any mounting suggestions (in terms of position, e.g. classic or progressive)? I'll be mounting Fritshci Freerides. I'm 5'9", a buck 60. I'm an expert, aggressive skier, but don't really plan on landing switch, if I can help it. I was thinking of mounting between classic and progressive. Any thoughts?

Will I die if I ski on these? The turn radius is gigantic, which usually means you'd better pray if you get into a tight tree run or chute. So, when short, quick turns are necessary, how well do these do given the radius?

Black Diamond Zealot Ski
April 12, 2010
At what point is a ski too heavy for touring? I'm just starting out in backcountry and have picked up a pair of Fritschi Freerides. I don't really plan on multi-day tours (although I won't rule that out either), but I do plan on most ski days in the backcountry. I'm considering the BD Zealot, the BD Justice, and the Salomon Czar. Theyre similar in weight, but is 9.5 pounds too heavy, plus the Freeride bindings (at 4.5 pounds) and possibly the Scarpa Spirit 4 boots (at 7.8 pounds), for backcountry use?
