Great glove for cold hands

Black Diamond Punisher Glove

Black Diamond Punisher Glove

Rating for this product: 4 February 15, 2012

Weather it's due to poor circulation, low bodyfat, or excessive white-knuckling on my tools when leading, my hands get cold when I'm ice climbing. I got this glove to ensure warm paws when I'm leading on tough ice. These things do the job. They give great dexterity to grab a screw, or a pice of pro on a mixed route, and they keep the screaming barfies at bay (mostly).

My only complaint is construction, I've yet to see any glove maker come out with a pair of gloves that will last for 2 seasons if you're climbing more then 30 days a year. If you climb hard and often, your gloves will get shredded. It's like buying kinko's for skiing. If you ski 100+ days a year, I just don't see the point in buying a 100+ dollar pair of gloves. Ice climbing is a little different, the dexterity, warmth, and water-repellence of these gloves is awesome, I just wish I didn't already see stitches blowing out.

I/O Bio Merino Contact Pilot Suit - Men's

I/O Bio Merino Contact Pilot Suit - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 15, 2012

Thin, but it's merino, so it feels great and doesn't stank too bad. Great for bridging those gaps above your ass that let in snow. one piece, less nonsense. the only reason i'm giving it 4 stars is cause i'd like it to be a bit thicker.

MSR Dromlite Bags

MSR Dromlite Bags

Water bottles are for suckers. Get the adapters to turn these into a camelbak-like bladder you can suck on while you hike, or just rolling them up for weightless travel, these things kill it. As durable as the un-lightweight version, they'll keep you hydrated for a while. Show me a better way to carry 6L of water for 4 oz. Water is life.

Black Diamond Camalot C4 Package #0.5 - 3

Rating for this product: 5 January 4, 2012

If you've gotten this far...you're thinking to much. There is no reason not to get any, each, or all of these cams. simply the best. 6 seasons of use and going strong. BD will re-sew slings for about 4 bucks a cam. That makes for some life-long fun. Do it and go climbing.

MSR Alpine 2 Stainless Steel Pot Set

MSR Alpine 2 Stainless Steel Pot Set

Rating for this product: 4 May 23, 2010

after some initial dis-coloration and warping due to excessive heat while i was too busy chiling to tend to my dinner, this set has settled in quite nicely and i expect it to last through the apocalypse. light enough for me, but if you're a wimpy vegan go-light climber type you might look into the titanium set and add some tephlon pieces to your belly. enjoy!
