Can't quite tell from the pics, but can you drink from this mug with the lid on? Or do you have to remove the lid everytime you want to take a sip?

No they don't, but they are long enough that you can still rock them commando. Also, depending on what size you get, boxers work underneath as well. I'm about a 32" waist and got the size L. Little big on me, but I like my board shorts that way and it allows me to wear boxers if I want.
