Burton Wheelie Locker

February 16, 2012

It's a little bit of both. You can basically fold the bag in half when it's empty, but that's it. It's like a preformed shell on the backside of the bag with the exception of the center where it can be folded. It's a pretty durable bag. I own a previous years 166 model and have traveled with it at least the last 2 years. My only complaint (which is actually brought up in ultrakenji's review) is that the bag is too stinking heavy. I packed 2 Boards(159 Ride Concept UL, and a 153 GNU DK) a jacket, 3 pair of pants, my helmet, spine protector and impact shorts and was already at the 50 pound weight limit. This last trip was a pain trying to pack things in my other bag because this bag was maxed as far as weight. It's got a ton of space you can't use unless you wanna pay for overweight bags when you fly. If you're road tripping with it then that's another story, but for flying cross country, I don't plan on using this bag again because it weighs way too much. Hopefully this helps.

Good Protection

POC Hip VPD Impact Short

POC Hip VPD Impact Short

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2011

My first pair of impact shorts. I got them last year, knew I needed some because I bruised my tailbone in '09. Anyway, I can say that I came away clean from last year. They do a great job. VPD is pretty sweet stuff. Stiff at first, but once you've had it on a few minutes it softens up. Comfy shorts. Not bulky, even though they look like they would be. They've just gotten tight, but that's my own fault for packing on another 15 pounds. :)

K2 Snowboards Cinch CTX Snowboard Binding

December 27, 2010

These vs. Flow NXT AT?
I currently ride with Flow bindings, but need to downsize my boot by 1 size, which means I'm gonna have to swap my bindings because they will now be too big for the boots. I have a friend that digs these, but he's never been Flows before. Anyone out there have experience with both and a preference for any reason? I'll be using these mainly for pow and freeriding. I'm trying to decide between these and the Flow NXT-FSE. Thanks!

Oakley Splice Goggle Replacement Lens

December 15, 2010

Fire Iridium
I was curious to know if the fire iridium replacement lens is exactly the same as the stock ones in the goggs. Just looking at these pics, it doesn't look like it to me. And I can't get the frames I want with the fire iridium lens, so that's why i'm asking.

Anon Realm Goggle

May 2, 2010

I've tried on the oakley splice and really like the fit. How does the realm compare? And what conditions is the red gradient lens good for? I looked at anon's site, but couldn't find reference to it.

A great thing made better!

Flow NXT-ATSE Snowboard Binding

Flow NXT-ATSE Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 5 February 9, 2010

I own the '09 NXT AT's and love them. I haven't gotten to use these on the mountain yet, but took them down a hill by the house the other day just because we got a little bit snow. Anyway, I REALLY dig the way flow tricked these things out over the standard AT's. Where the AT's have ratchets on the inside of the binding, the AT SE's have an adjustable fixed position instead of the ratchets. Setup after traveling will be way quicker. I can't really say much about the "rocker", yet. I will say that the new flared bottom of the highback makes it WAY easier to lock it in. I didn't have even the slightest bit of trouble with it. With the '09s it can be irritating to lock in at times, but it doesn't seem to be an issue with the '10 line. I have '09 Ride Ful Boots size 9.5 and my AT's and AT SE's are a Large. LOVE MY FLOWS!

Good for a cheaper price

Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket Bud Headphones

Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket Bud Headphones

Rating for this product: 2 February 23, 2009

First off, I must say that I love the other skullcandy products I own. If I had to choose all over again, I wouldn't have gotten these. I got them from SAC or Whiskey, so the price wasn't so bad. I bought a pair of lowriders as well, and I have to say I like the lowriders more than these. They fit well, and keep the music isolated so i'm the only one hearing my headphones, but I expected better sound quality. They're loud, so volume isn't a problem, but they sound kind of muddy to me. Not what I expected for the MSRP on these things. I've got a friend that bought a pair of these. He also bought the titans at Ross for like 8 bucks. He likes the titans better than his FMJ's. Overall, if you want a pair of headphones that are loud without a huge amount of distortion, and you aren't much of an audiophile, these are perfect. If you score them at a cheaper price.

Flow NXT AT Snowboard Binding

Flow NXT AT Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 5 January 26, 2009

As one reviewer said, because of the number of adjustments on these bindings, it might take a few runs to get them how you want them. Get lower model if you're a beginner. After tweaking mine a few times, transitions have become almost effortless. The only waiting I do is when my friends are all on their butts taking forever to strap in. I am a little disappointed with the strap adjustments on the toe-side of the baseplate. The screw loosened during day 4, but I'll just put some threadlock on it and it should be good. I tried a demo board that had mission bindings, and I wasn't impressed. Step, Lift, DONE!

Friggin' AWESOME!

The North Face XTC Expedition 1/4 Zip - Men's

The North Face XTC Expedition 1/4 Zip - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 12, 2008

I recently went boarding in Whistler/Blackcomb. On one of the days, I decided to go with just this shirt and my boarding jacket. It was maybe 10 degrees F at the top of the mountain. That's without a windchill, and not on the lift. It does everything it claims! The only time I was a little chilly was on the lift. And if you've been to Whistler, you know how long the ride can be in the open lifts. And like I said, that was the only piece between me and my jacket. The pants were warmer yet. I left my inner thigh vents open on my pants going down the mountain. This set is the BEST! Can't say enough about them.

Toasty

The North Face XTC Expedition Tight - Men's

The North Face XTC Expedition Tight - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 12, 2008

Hands down the best base layers I have are The North Face XTC Expeditions. Used them at Whistler. It was 10 degrees without the windchill, and I had my vents open on my pants going down the mountain. And I was still toasty! What's better is that nothing smelled at the end of the trip!!! If you live in the great white north, do what you can to get these! Worth every penny.
