Mission Playground Juarez Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Mission Playground Juarez Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 23, 2009

Comfortable, stylin' and keeps you cool in the heat. The fact that it is organic cotton is kind of cool but, with how loosely defined that term has become, it is not really a factor in buying this shirt. Also, I normally wear a large in button-up shirts but this shirt is really big. I went down to a medium and it fit perfectly. Get this shirt for summer, you will not regret this purchase!

X-ray Vision

Kaenon Jetty Sunglasses - Polarized

Kaenon Jetty Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 5 June 17, 2009

Wow! These sunglasses are awesome! I had never heard of them before my friend let me try a pair out. I can see things that I would never be able to see with other sunglasses. My friends think I'm crazy because I'm always pointing things out that they can't even see. I can see the ripple effect of the safety glass, on car windows and can see right through the reflection off of water, right to the bottom of lakes and streams. I've owned other polarized sunglasses before but they don't even come close to these. I would recommend these in any conditions, but especially for use on water.

Great Everyday Shoe

The North Face Rucky Chucky Trail Running Shoe - Men's

The North Face Rucky Chucky Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 14, 2009

I bought these shoes mainly for desert hikes but also as my daily kicks. First off, they definitely do run a 1/2 size too big. These are really comfortable shoes. They hug my foot nicely with no heel-lift at all and they are also reasonable light and very well ventilated. The shoes have great grip and seem to be holding up very well after about 4-5 months of daily use. I have wide, flat feet and these worked out well for me because I have virtually no arch. The material is also very flexible which allows for wider feet. Overall, these shoes are perfect for my usage; mainly fast and light backpacking in the desert. If you are in a wetter climate I would probably recommend a boot or something with Gore-Tex.

Chuck it Comrade!

DAKINE Chuck Hat

DAKINE Chuck Hat

Rating for this product: 5 January 9, 2009

I love this hat! It is warmer than a normal beanie but not so warm that you are sweating while shredding. Best part about this hat are the earflaps. You can flip 'em down on extra cold/windy days to keep your ears from falling off and you can flip them up when the wind dies down. Hat is also constructed very well and no furry critters were harmed in the making of the hat. This is an awesome hat overall, as long as you don't mind looking like an Ex-KGB operative from the Ukraine...

Good Constuction But Not Very Warm

Black Diamond Patrol Glove

Black Diamond Patrol Glove

Rating for this product: 4 December 15, 2008

First off, I don't use these gloves for their intended purpose, (ski patrol). I use these as my everyday snowboarding gloves. They are constructed very well and are very durable. The problem comes in when the temp. dips below about 20 degrees. I've found them to be pretty comfortable in weather down to about 20 degrees but when it gets down to the teens or below zero they do not keep your hands warm. If you are looking for a durable glove that allows a lot of freedom of movement, this would be a great glove. If you are skiing or boarding in really cold weather, often, I would stay away from this glove.

Perfect Cookset

Snow Peak Titanium Cookware - 3pcs

Snow Peak Titanium Cookware - 3pcs

Rating for this product: 5 September 30, 2008

This is the perfect cook set for long-distance backcountry trips. It is extremely light, sturdy, compact and easy to clean. If you are cooking anything more complex than freeze dried or "just add water" meals, you might want something a little bigger though. I'm usually a lone wolf and packing light though, so this set works out perfectly for my needs. No complaints.

Mountain House Macaroni and Cheese - 2 Serving Entree

Rating for this product: 5 September 30, 2008

This Mac 'n Cheese tastes much better than anything you can buy in the store. It is also extremely light and easy to prepare. I'll definitely be ordering this meal again!

The Perfect Bag

Marmot Couloir Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Down

Marmot Couloir Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 September 16, 2008

This bag is amazing! I am more comfortable and get better sleep when I'm in this bag than when I'm sleeping in my bed. Really warm and has a silky-smooth liner. A lot of bags say they are 0 degree but are actually significantly colder after they are used a few times. Not with this bag. The 800+ fill is super warm and does not pack out. Another bonus is the roominess inside the bag; plenty of wiggle room. On a cold, clear night there is no need for a tent when you have this bag. The only catch is, you do not want to use this bag in wet conditions w/o a bivy or a good tent. Absolutely no complaints with this sleeping bag.

Awesome Flops!

Chaco Flip Sandal - Men's

Chaco Flip Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 16, 2008

I have owned many flip flops and never really though much of them, other than as a cheap substitute for shoes. These flops completely changed my outlook on what a flop is. They are just as comfortable as any shoe I have worn and are a must in any warm climate. They actually have arch and heel support, the footbed does not break down and they can be re-soled! Being as I'm from SLC, these flops pretty much do not leave my feet in the summer except to sleep and hike. The price may seem steep for a flop, but considering they will last for years, it's a very good deal.

So-so

Skullcandy Lowrider Headphones

Skullcandy Lowrider Headphones

Rating for this product: 3 August 18, 2008

These headphones are a little bit overrated. The sound is good enough, but there is virtually no lower end. I like how they fold together and store easily, but they tend to slide off of my head, if I tilt my head back at all. Also, they rip the hell out of your hair, when you have them around your neck.

Great active jacket

The North Face Momentum Jacket - Men's

The North Face Momentum Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 1, 2008

This jacket is seaick! It's designed for running and such, so if you're looking for a casual jacket I would look elsewhere. It's very form fitting but fits well and is constructed well. I only use this jacket when I'm running from the Five-O, in the spring when it's not too cold out. Once it dips into the 50's or below, it's not all that practical. Oh yeah, it's also great as a mid-layer when boarding or skiing.

Summer time and the livin's easy...

Columbia Roc Short - Men's

Columbia Roc Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 18, 2008

These are sweet shorts! Very comfortable shorts and quality construction. I haven't had them long, but you can tell by the thickness of the material that they will last a long time. They were really inexpensive to boot. The long is just right, just below the knee. However, I had to go a size up from what I normally wear. I could still squeeze into the 33's, but I need my shorts to have some breathing room, so I went up a size.

Jungle Trekking Pants

The North Face Equator Pant - Men's

The North Face Equator Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 3, 2008

Awesome pants! I bought these pants for my trip to Costa Rica. I did a lot of hiking in the rain forest and they worked splendidly. The fit is great, they are very breathable, comfortable and light weight but they are thick enough to prevent light scrapes and to avoid poison ivy. Oh yeah, they dry really quickly too. No complaints.

Bomb it!

Never Summer Premier Snowboard

Never Summer Premier Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 February 26, 2008

Rode this board in powder/packed snow and it's extremely fast and stable. I felt like I could ride through any amount of crud or bumps and not worry about wrecking. I had no complaints about this board. If you like to straight-line or make big carves in powder or crud alike, this is your board. It's also much lighter than older Never Summer boards I have ridden.

Lib Technologies Travis Magnetraction Snowboard

Lib Technologies Travis Magnetraction Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 February 26, 2008

This board is amazing! Extremely fast and responsive and can handle whatever you throw at it, with ease. I feel invincible on this board. You can glide over the powder, stick a huge kicker and then straight line the chop and not even flinch. The magnetraction is just an added bonus on top of an already awesome package. I have been able to carve on sheer ice while everyone else is washing out! The harder you push this board, the more rewarding it becomes.

Great Tent!!!

Black Diamond Mesa 2-Person 3-Season Tent

Black Diamond Mesa 2-Person 3-Season Tent

Rating for this product: 5 May 29, 2007

This tent is really amazing. With the one-pole hub design, takes less than a minute to set this tent up! Packs pretty light and is the most user friendly tent I have owned. Took this tent on a 5-day trip to Zion NP and it was excellent through several days of thunder storms and heavy rain and wind gusts of 40-50 mph. The only thing I would have liked were a couple extra stakes. The tent comes with just enough to stake it down, but the featherlight aluminum breaks fairly easily. No major concerns with this tent. Awesome!!!

Stingray!

Arc'teryx Stingray Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Stingray Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 3, 2007

This jacket is very nice. I haven't found anything that I don't like about this jacket. Very lightweight, fits very well and is waterproof. Quality is also outstanding, and they are made in Canada, not Indonesia, which is another good thing.
